Hi everyone!

First of all - I'm new around here, so I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Chris, I'm from Zurich, Switzerland. I study Media and Communication Sciences, and in the course of that I'm conducting a survey on the use of MMORPGs. And since this is MMORPG.com I thought it likely to find some MMORPG-Players here :-D

Not quite - I know Nick Yee's work, and find it quite impressive. But his current survey and mine have nothing to do with each other.

Absolutely! But his focus is on other matters. I can't go into details here because I don't want to influence people, but you might get an idea of what I mean once you fill out my survey ;-)

Typos are bad, thanks for the tip. About the questions - most of the items or questions are standardized and were tested in earlier studies, though not by me. This includes their translation. To keep the whole thing reliable I have to go with them.

That said - it shouldn't worry you too much while filling out the survey. One always gets a certain ambiguity and "openness" in these things.

Sorry for not answering earlier - I was kinda busy...

@ Swede2 & Brainy: Of course the opinions and experiences of former (or rather not-current) players are as important as those of current players, no doubt about it. The point is, however, that the topic of a great part of the survey requires me to limit the sample to *current* players, and therefore I have to screen out non-players. So - no hard feelings, right?

Oh yeah, btw - the survey will stay online until friday the 22nd of december, 23:59 GMT-1, so if you haven't filled it out yet that's your chance! Thanks a bunch!
