It's a good mainstream game, that's the only way I can phrase this. All games eventually stop being fun, it's just how it is.

War doesn''t determine who is right nor wrong. War determines who is left. |

Make a poll, and people will invariably bitch about the options you gave them. The poll has all the basic options you need to vote. For those of you with reading comprehension problems, I'll simplify them for you:
I like it alot. Its alright. I like it, but it has its down sides. I don't like it. I'm dumb, def, and blind. "Speaking haygywaygy or some other gibberish with your mum doesn't make you foreign." |

I enjoyed the game, made 3 level 60's and had endless enjoyment, but the thing is at level 60 it becomes a grind, and it's only fun anymore if you become a hardcore 18 hours a day raider, which I would never let myself become. The PvE part is great apart from the end-game raiding. But if you're a fan of PvP then it really won't satisfy unless you're the kind that enjoys endless "easy-mode" combat consisting of spamming 2 buttons and jumping around like a mad man while your gear does the rest of the work.
Blizzard always seemed to aim WoW at the PvE side of gaming, regardless of the hype they created over it being a 'never ending epic battle between the alliance and the horde', the only Horde vs Alliance war's I see are petty fights over a flag in WSG or a fight for a mine in AB, and the worst of course being AV which is 50% PvE anyway, and don't even get me started on the joke that is "outdoor" pvp, outdoor pvp ended the day they added DK's, which I can understand due to the fact that they will never upgrade the hamsters running the servers' wheels to something that can actually handle any large scale non-instanced pvp. I've quit WoW, but I still respect it as a game, I would consider myself beyond the fanboi fad which is to spend half your free time actually not playing your precious game and instead making sure you post endlessly how great and ever flawless your game is and how any other game is just the dirt on your shoe. I just hope some kids and shameful adults read this and realise that the game you play doesn't define who you are, so there's no need to post endless non-backed up info boasting how great a game is just because you play it, it doesn't add any real discussion to the forums other than encourage flames. I myself am waiting for WAR, not because I believe it is an all around better game (although I do think it most likely will be), I honestly think from what I've heard so far that WAR will be the PvP dream I've been waiting for, but I still think WoW will have its better parts such as PvE and if that's what you enjoy you're better off staying with WoW. |

the closes option is its a good game just like any mmorpg, its better than most mmos due to ql ects yadda yadda yadda, but its fun value is a little below average. after taking into to account that a mmo with deaths do to lag and/or misc KNOWN bug #862 it clearly got the above average, as those deaths are the worse and all too common. so it got buffed up to a rank it didn't quite deserve.

Endgame is ONLY for hardcore raiding fanbois, do I have to say more ? Endgame gives u no options at all its just Raid or die and thats it. Such a shame really the PvE part of this game was so good 1-59.
PvP well I dont think I have to say anything about it, its more than a hardcore grind who would know better than me ? 2 times Rank14 and I dont even know why I did it lol probably cause there is nothing else to do if u dont like to raid + no other good MMOs out there right now :/. Crafting well it just sux its so meaningless in this game, only good professions are alchimy for pots and engineering for PvP. Screw blacksmithing, tailoring and all these professions its just like an expensive hobby, you really get nothing from it. If you are looking at the facts I wouldnt call WoW a good game, sure its still fun to play somehow probably cause the combat feels action like but thats it. It could be sooooooooo much better but we all know the good ppls from Blizz left long time ago like Bil Roper and so, now they having designers from old EQ ? well lol thats why this game sux more and more. |

I enjoyed this game a lot. The UI (user interface ie buttons boxes controls bags chat screens inventory character stat sheet ect) is smooth and user friendly, which is saying a lot more than some other games. The gameplay is action packed and fast paced with enjoyable combat and decent AI. Despite claims to the contrary, PVP is quite well balanced (unlike DAOC where ranged dps/mesmerize casters rule over all others), every class has a distinct role, a counter class, and class they counter exceptionally well. The character classes have a lot of variety and useful skills. There is some complexity, but it's not overwhelming to newcomers (like AO for instance). And the world itself is much more user friendly than in other games, with flying set track transportation, relatively easily accessible land based mounts, easy binding for all classes, mini map feature, quest NPCs flagged so you don't have to randomly go up to every damn person in town to find the one person you need for a quest. Health and mana return relatively fast even if you don't use food & drinks or spells to recover them (a huge improvement over the super slow health and mana recovery of EQ). This game is streamlined, improves over all it's "competition" by leaps and bounds in most cases, and it's just plain fun. Once you've played this game, then go try a free trial of one of the other mmorpgs and you'll quickly realize why WOW is superior to them. |

It's a good game by todays standards, but it is still a subpar product. The game revolves around getting powerful items. This makes the community greedy and promotes selfishness. This pits on player against another and tempts people to do things that they normally wouldn't do, such as ninja looting. The game has very few classes and is very linear. This may appeal to some, but it gets old quick. Everyone is pigeon holed into a group role and cannot deviate from that role even if they wanted to. Every person is practically the same. Most people look the same and have the same skills also. This game is quest/story driven. Some people like this, but it resembles a single player game with less than good quests. The quests are usually Fed-Ex missions or Kill x amount of y for z items. Single player game content is much better. Quest/story driven MMORPG's cater to the soloer. A group of friends that start together is not likely to be on the same quest or at the same level and the end of the week. So this means the group of friends have to repeat old quests or split up. I mostly see people splitting up and soloing mostly to 60, except for the Instances. You might as well play Oblivion or another well made single player game if all you are going to do is solo. Battlegrounds. The battlegrounds aren't bad, but because of the number allowed in, there are waiting times. Losing rank over time for not fighting is unrealistic and is a bad idea. Raids. Raids sure is a way to keep people paying if that was the goal, but they get old and force people into guilds they wouldn't have joined normally. If you want a good game, you need to step away from the single player mentality and enter the world of virtual reality. This is what sandbox games have done and this is why sandbox games are better. A sandbox games allows you to grow as a character by learning skills and getter better at those skills by performing that skill. You can learn any skill you want, so it is possible to heal, throw fireballs, and melee if you wanted. You are only limited by the number of skill-points you are allotted. You can build player ran cities and also have them taken from you. Crafters supply what you need and you defend the crafters and get them the rare supplies they might need. There is a reason for playing and a reason for performing each action in a sandbox game and those actions actually change or influence the world you play in. This is why a sandbox game is better and this is why WoW is not a great game. |
