I remember back when AC had a huge player base. When starting areas had a shit load of noobs running around. When getting cracked shards gave you that feeling in your stomach (same with motes). Back when noone was 126 yet and people just hung around and talked. Back in DT when every starting area was like a warzone of corpses. Going to Teth for the first time, knowing thats where all the "uber" players are. For me, these are a select few memories i have and i loved AC, too bad all good things come to an end, which is where this game is heading.

the Starter Outposts on DT were my favorite places to mess around in if my main server was down. I remember I would level a Bow character to about 7-9 and get my weapons buffed up the ass, and own people 4 times my lvl. Or, I'd lie to people and tell them I wasn't a PK and I'd take them out into the woods and backstab them ftw.

I miss the way AC was when yo had to learn magic by trial and error. I quit after they changed that. I miss being in the Brell clan on leafcull, that was the best guild I have been in in any game.. I miss fighting in the citadel with everyone else, that was hectic but very fun. I tried playing again a few months back and it wasn't even close to the game I knew. |

lol I miss those dayz, I played AC for like 5 years, one of the first - First person MMORPG to be released. The Gaming zone back in the day when they had real games was advertising it for about a year before it actually was released by turbine, I was one of the first people to beta test AC and everyone thought it was cool whn they found a flaming or chilled weapon. lol The newbie outposts were fun. I have so many good RPG memories from AC its hard to find an RPG that had the atmosphere that AC did. I remember working so hard to make my Composite Bow (In DARK TIDE) when a mod 110 was as high as you could go with a bow and that nobody could loot it from me, getting my first set of GSA was also exciting.

I have to agree, I played AC for about 4 years with beta2, and while I tried it out again a few months ago (only to discover it was empty) I haven't found another game that held me as long as it did. Just the fairness of it. You could have lot of fun, without playing 12 hours a day, and everything was a learning experience. Spell research, quests, land exploration. Custom characters (although after the game had evolved, only a few popular models flourished) and not being stuck in a class. And although the graphics were not fantastic, they were good for the time, and still look ok today compared to some more recent games. This is one game I miss.

I really miss those good ol' days. Its kinda sad to see what turbine has done to "kill it" I quit back when they made it so you couldn't portal after being attacked or attacking. Darktide newb wars...*sigh* good times. To bad no one but the really hardcore play now.

In what way did Turbine kill it? In what way is it dead? I play AC to this day, and I happen to think it's awesome right now. It may be dead to you, but that doesn't make it dead period.

I also miss those Newm wars on DT those were the best times... Then running down the road to hebian-to or shoushi and a nother pk see's you and they keep shouting peace but yet you still attack them anyway those were the good ol days. |
