You kinda dig your own grave hear. first you say the game sucks, despite the fact you never played it. yet here you crawl back and say its "not a game for me". there is a big diffrence between a game that sucks and a game that is not for you. |

LOL So I was right, you didn't play it. Instead you based your judgements on "faqs" and simple screenshots and graphics. Way to go! /sarcasimoff Not only that, but you said it's a game that isn't for you. Saying a game that isnt for you is totally different than from saying it sucks. Try again! Well thanks for keeping the thread pretty much civil in all respects and sharing some points of view. I have played the beta for awhile now and I can say one thing absolutely...this game is not for me. I find it awful and I gave it a fighting try but this style of play just isnt for me. I dont have a huge amount of experience with Korean MMO's but I do have some so I went into it with an open mind but alas the game just hit me in the face like 2000 pounds of boring in a 5 pound sack. I reserve any judgement on the game due to the fact that the reason I think I disliked it so much is due to pretty much everything about it and in reality there are plenty of people that will love it for just the same reasons. Anyone thats fond of Korean style games will like this im sure but those that dont will want to run screaming to the hills. You will find me there curled up in a ball rocking back and forth.
No great pearls of wisdom here. I think the best way to put it is its exactly what you would think it would be as long as you arnt really expecting anything revolutionary which I was and is a reason I am disappointed too im sure. I would love to post my opinions as a player but I dont think it would add or subtract anything at this point and as I said just a few sentences ago it can be boiled down mostly into your like or dislike for korean MMO's. For me...not so much. Have a good one guys im off to look for something that suits my needs. |

Archlord sux. It sucks big giant donkey balls. It's just another piece of crap mmo ported over by Codemasters, which just proves they are still a company full of retards. "Because it's easier to nitpick something than to be constructive." -roach5000 |

I've been playing like a week now. This game has potential but there is few things that need developers attention. First one is moving. In my opinion moving is..hmm.. how should I say it.. sticky. It just doesnt look right. Second thing I'd like to mention is picking up items with mouse (i know.. it sounds funny and u can laught now). Some of the tiny itmes are hard to pick up cause you have to klick just in the right place to pick the item up. 3rd thing: Quests are kinda boring. Atleast most of them. "go there, kill 5 of them and come back to me to get reward". There was few things that should be fixed. Atleast in my opinion. Game has potential so let's not judge it too soon. Few updates and the game is great. |

"Sorry, but comments like "The game totally blows, I played for 10 minutes and..." are not really facts or logic" Repeating a lie won't make it true "If you actually take the time to look a bit further" Just look at your posts post-patch, you continued dissing ppl that criticised it and you were cheering for AL all the time. Many examples of that. So my reaction sums my thoughts about you and your fanboish behaviour even post patch and I don't feel a need to change a single word. |

I can't remember me defending the changes in the patch? I said that CM is TESTING new changes in beta. |

"comments like "The game totally blows, I played for 10 minutes and..." are not really facts or logic" the lie in red Originally posted by Gameloading Op, if you can't understand that game companies experiment during test phase, then DO NOT join beta tests. This would be a valid complaint if you were actually a paying subscriber. but your not yet. A beta is a phase where companies will test things. you decided to join the test. And you posted that even after CM's representatives repeatadly said (and ppl [not only on this forum I bet] repeatably told you and pointed you to the CM's posts) that it was no test but fcked up patch from the beginning.
True. I reached that limit. The End. |

and how exactly is that defending the content of the patch? I was defending the fact that CM was testing a new concept during a test phase Beta, not the content of the patch. |

Who cares, this game has already been exposed for the crap that it is. The smart people are leaving the game for something better and the easily manipulated fanbois will be the only community left in about a month, so who cares just look elsewhere for your mmo needs

hahahaha, most funny post EVER! this is truly the top of irony. Sometimes, ignorant people are even more funny then comedians. this part is the best of it all: "No, saying a game isnt for me and it sucks is NOT different, because any game that isnt for me, in my opinion sucks, duhhh, its really not a hard concept to follow for a person of average intelligence *shrugs* maybe I over-estimated your guys intelligence?" actually it IS diffrent. when something sucks, it means its bad. the diffrence between "Not for me" is that the game is still high quality, but you just don't like it. but you have proved on this forums that your not really bright, so I don't think you will ever understand that concept. also, I strongly recommend you leave something like "Age" out of this. because if anybody does not behave to its age, then its you. my little nephew of 12 is more mature then you (more inteligent as well, come to think of it. at least he only speaks out of experience, can't say that about you). but by all means, please keep posting like this. People who make a fool out of themself without even realizing it are always good for a good laugh. I can blow your entire arguement out of the water by just asking these simple questions: What is the endgame like? What are the pvp raids like? What is pvp like at lvl 40~50? what class is strong against what class? |

This was my answer to the beta questionaire. 1. Right now I don't intend to purchase ArchLord for three reasons; A) I already play GuildWars and ArchLord is basically the same thing with server lag. B) I already play Dark Age of Camelot and, as bored as I am with it after five years, ArchLord doesn't even come close to it's quality. C) I dislike PvP anyway so playing a game based on PvP where people's success can be based on who can throw away more money than me is out of the question. 2. There's obviously a great deal of imagination and thought behind ArchLord's graphics and layout. It would have been impressive five or six years ago but not now. You've got games like World of Warcraft, Dark Age of Camelot, Everquest I and II, Guild Wars, Lineage II and the soon to be released WarHammer and Lord of the Rings that have far better graphics and at least equal to or far better in content. Yet, your game aims at the same audience or, at least, those of the same audience who want to pay for skills. I think that's a sad choice but I have no doubt you'll find enough takers to pay your server overhead. 3. You've designed a game where people with a lot of money to throw away will fight other people with a lot of money to throw away. Within six months, the accelerated curve of expense to gain will cancel out and then those players will stop playing. Of course, you'll add more stuff but by that time the players will have learned the curve and they won't buy it. It would have been better to design a game for the new audience coming with Windows Vista. Media types who would play for something else to do because they're bored. Those people who probably wouldn't want to do the age old level grind even if you could explain to them why they'd want to, or why people used to do it so obsessively. They'll want to play a game where they can explore vast areas and see amazing things with people from all over the world. They'll want to speak in other languages. They'll make groups with other players so they can get more xp just so they can see what's over the next horizon and gain more xp. They'll stop and play chess in the homes they've won or go to an instance and start a farm to sell food to market merchants at a profit for more xp for a nicer farm. They'll stop in a pub and play cards where you can actually see your hand and bet money they got from drops. And, they'll go hunt to get more money to gamble with in order to get xp or armor or anything. There a lot of ways to sell power. None of them involve selling power. That's not playing the game. Good luck, I hope you do well. |

I'm not actually defending Archlord but I'm so suprise that there so many people misunderstanding the concept of this game... Im guessing people really do have different taste even among mmorpg lovers... 1. Archlord and GW is totally different game.. i don't see any relationship between these two.. I do understand people getting bored of games after playing certain time so does all games out there... PvP and successing by throwing away money have nothing to do with each other.. and if you talking about monthly fees.. it's only $10? wow have monthly fees also.. 2. Wow have great graphic with great lag It's only beta server but i don't have any lag in server atm 3. wut's money got to do with design of this game? i don't understand... most cash items aren't nessassary to play the game... don't we get 1500 cash point every month any ways?if i'm wrong in any field, please correct meActual game is not even out yet.. people trying to leave with misleading information... This is going great!! ^^ Please see http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/thread/95563 for some info if you r on beta. |
