Actually it takes place 20 years after Nemisis. PE has also been given or aquired license to use all of Star Trek from the movies and the TV shows. Unfortunately that includes Enterprise.

As others have said, 20 years after Nemesis. Frankly I think this is a refreshing change from a strictly Next Generation era game. As a hardcore fan of all the series I am pleased that PE has the license to content from all of the shows. I'm going to probably crap myself frequently with references that I think only I understand. Oh, and the suggestion that Enterprise was crap... well... I liked it and I would really like to see some sort of reference to it (maybe NX-01 as a museum ship or something). The future concept is great because it means that the stories can be totally fresh. |

yeah it would be awesome if they did it from a perspective other than the normal. it would be exciting to see new and more powerful ship types, and new kinds of nebulas or planets and species, as long as they dont overkill it. i dont want a game where you meet a new species every turn. there would be no room for stories, or alliances (such as the classic federation vs klingon approach). Another idea, it would be interesting if you could choose which series you wanted to play in. Just a thought.

I am sure that there will be ships available from several differnt series. It will allow older ships to be used by newer/lower level players and more current models to be used by higher level players. The more ships they can get into the game the better.

yeah i totally agree. and i wonder if there will be any PVP combat?
like capital ship wise. it would probably have to be a pretty serious
thing though. like if you lose the battle, you lose your ship and have
to earn up to getting one again. thats even considering you make it to
being a captain of a starship. maybe you can choose your profession.
like be a security officer, or a diplomat or a starfleet academy
officer. maybe you are the chief engineer. who knows? and i wonder what
it will be like when you are on board a ship that goe into combat. what
does the crew do? guess well find out.

I bet if you were to poll Captain Kirk, Picard, and Janeway, they'd all say that Archer was the single most important captain to command a starship. //|//|// |

I think they would say the guy from the First Contact movie, who created the warp drive. |

I don't think Zefram Cochrane counts as a starship captain. //|//|// |
