Why are there so many other games that are hyped above this? When ever im playing eq1/2 and WoW, its either Warhammer or Vanguard i hear about... PEOPLE start hyping this game up!! haha. I'd hype it up, but mmorpg wont let me hype untill i get my rank up... sigh.

They should have read the part that SOE wont be affecting the gameplay in anyway... or atleast thats what i have read.

Prepare for a rough ride! I'm in the air about this game, some concepts sound neat but.... Also the game sounds very linear. Games that are about the next level, the better loot, and the new mission aint really for me... But some of it does sound good: the politics, crafting, ect... Just have to wait and see until the game is released. Then fact will be seperated from fiction and "HYPE." --When you resubscribe to SWG, an 18 yearold Stripper finds Jesus, gives up stripping, and moves with a rolex reverend to Hawaii. --In MMORPG's l007 is the opiate of the masses. --The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence! --CCP could cut off an Eve player's fun bits, and that player would say that it was good CCP did that.
Born Novice Member Joined: 8/30/06 Posts: 17	9/07/06 11:06:09 PM#9 Report this post Explain why you are reporting this post: (750 characters max.) i don't think this game has real solid financial backing. especially not lately. they don't seem to have enough staff to do things right, for example. and they probably don't have a lot of money to spend on adverts right now. probably sony will hype it when it's further developed. but they've been working on it for almost 5 years now.

How did you come to that conclusion? Sonys job is to do the admin, marketing, server crap.

No it isn't, hype in the context of a game that is in production reflects a persons desire for the game, and after the SOE announcement a lot of people changed their opinions (and hype) because they wanted nothing to do with a game that had SOE involved, therefore the low hype accurately depicts many peoples new expectations for the game. Unless of course you're implying people aren't allowed to have opinions unless they match yours ?

Originally posted by tookmaster1 Maybe if brad would spend less time hyping other games down and insulting companies, the ratings would be much higher. uhh no, actually it has nothing to do with brad "insulting" other companies. and it has everything to do with the anti-soe crusaders on this web site lowering the hype on this game after they heard soe was co-publishing vanguard, it was some sort of "boycot" some of the ex swg players started. theres really no debating it, if you were here before the soe announcement you would know that vanguard was 1 or 2 on the hype meter for a long time. as soon as the soe announcement it sank all the way down well bellow 7.0, pretty much within a day or two if i remember correctly.

I can equally say that all the EQ players had the hype raised higher than it should have been. And only then because they were mad because no other game has come close to their ideal. It's hype, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Hype level dosent really show much since the game is on beta stadium and everyone dosent have the chance to test the game, but i guess people still hype the game.
