Wow I come on here to get some opinions on the game and I mostly see a bad outlook for this game. Im downloading the beta right now to give it a shot...but I have to say...
This is the Archlord forum and I see so many fans of the game attacking anyone that gives a negative opinion. This isnt the Archlord Fan forum so please let people that dont share your view share it with the rest of us. I didnt come here to get rose scented air blown up my ass I want the truth and with doing my own research and seeing what other people think I can go into it expecting certain things. If you like the game make a post about why you like it so I can read that instead of attacking everyone that has a differing view then you. I can say I have seen almost no posts about why someone likes this game only posts bashing people that dont. And most of those posts by people defending the game are nothing more then suggestions that people that dont like it do more research or just outright insults instead of any reason the game is enjoyable. Very annoying coming here looking for information good or bad and have to wade through 1000000 posts by people that have declared themselves protectorates of a game they cant possibly know more about then other people that have played the same amount and dont like it, but then say the person with the negative opinion is pre-judging...how can you pre-judge the positive if they cant pre-judge the nagative? Please...if you like the game say why you like it instead of spending your time bashing people that dont. If you have your own opinion as to why its a good game by all means share it so I can get your view of the game as well, but it should have some real content and explain what features you like. |

The issue is demz is that just about everyone who's given a negative opinion here has done so in a very misinformed manner. When you bring up things like gender restriction like it's shocking and "omgbbqsauce", it's funny because those restrictions have been known for half a year, in the case of the MoonElf's the lore covers their restriction, and if you think about it the reasons for it is so large guild battles can be achieved with minimal lag. Secondly, people figure they can give out a full review of the game after playing to level 10. This shows in their post and this is a forum on MMORPG.com of all places. You post with ignorance you're going to get it right back in your face. And last of all, if you haven't noticed the number of trolls here that post these biased and negative thoughts of the game only to get a rise out of those who appreciate the game for what it is, they do exist. No, ArchLord didn't reinvent the wheel. But the game has the possibility for some great large-scale PVP and the system to become ArchLord could be something very unique and fun. Everyone likes/dislikes the game for various reasons. When someone comes here or goes to the ArchLord forums and posts, "this game is a pile of steaming shit" then they shouldn't expect everyone to go "well said" and agree. In a recent thread I offered someone the opinions of ArchLord that someone else had posted not too long ago. They brought up both positive and negative things about the game, and did so in an unbiased and fair manner. That is the kind of opinion that new people happening upon ArchLord need. Something that tells them what to expect and what to not expect. The "this game is crap" sort of reviews are unconstructive and are a waste of anyone's time who is seeking a quality opinion of this game.  |

Yea, take reviews here with a grain of salt.. mostly bored people come here and bitch a lot.. I know because I've done it a few times myself
 For being a "typical point and click Korean MMO" they've done a lot with it. |

I think you kind of explained your own answer. the game gets brought into a bad daylight by people who hardly played the game. the game takes a while to get into, time most people don't want to put in the game. not to mention its also a game that is not for everyone. many people confuse the term "suck" or "bad game" with "Not for me".
Many fans of the game, myself included, have been following this title for months, and some of us even played the game in korean beta. we know what the game is like. Not to mention this game is in many ways similiar to Lineage 2. its based around the same PVP and Clan politics. people who played Lineage 2 for a good amount of time know what is out there. |

I have played the game for about a week now. I have a level 20 moonelf elementist, level 15 moonelf archer and a level 9 orc hunter. First off I have been in many betas, (too many to mention), but pretty much every major game on the market today I have been in the beta. When I first got into this game I was immediately reminded of Lineage 2. Same type of graphics, gameplay etc. The grind wasn't really bad at all until you get to level 16 or so, then it starts to slow down alot. At first I did some quests, but those quests were mainly go kill x amount of things and return to me, or find a certain stone in the woods and return it to me (which was easy to do since there was a big huge green question mark above it and was marked on my map)..which leads me to say this game is too simple. There really was no skill involved at all when everything is mapped out to me on my map. I found that simply grinding on mobs instead of doing quests was a much faster way to level. Finding monsters was easy for my level since I only had to go a few feet down the road and the next level monster would be there. Also I only had a few skills, so I would punch one that was a combat skill then auto the monster til dead, rinse repeat til level. Pvp. I have played a few open pvp games, am used to the constant ganking etc. This game is no different. RIght now there isn't a huge penalty for pking, so needless to say a ton of people are enjoying ganking the low level characters. I was on my lvl. 9 orc hunter the other day, and every time i tried to port out to a place to level I got jumped by one or two people and died. I must of been ganked about 10x before I finally gave up and deleted my orc. I found the moonelf starting area to be more mature and less ganking, but to be honest I already made up my mind this game is not for me and erased it from my system today. I can see this game as being a lineage 2 clone. So if you enjoy the lineage 2 grind (though I can see it isn't as bad as L2 but a grind netherless) and to be pk'd alot (though this is still beta and the pk penalty I hope will become alot stricter then it is now), and a very simple game to learn and play, you may enjoy archlord. I myself am going back to my more complicated beta that is still in NDA :P

I also started a Orc sorcerer and well im constantly getting jumped so i quite playing the orc went to the moonelf and no one really bothers you.. call me what you will but the simplicity of this game leads me to believe that there will be very few adults and more children on this game... for that one reason i must say i will not play it im kewl with PvP but this one comes down to who sees who first pretty much and with all the healing items you can carrie its whos the strongest not who can play there CHR better... i need a game that is more complicated than Click and watch till the mob dies , then loot, heal, and click agian to start the process all over agian. another thing is in groups its not evenly split you must hit harder or more often to get a chance at the items and xp which is great for some one higher lvl they get everything but lower lvl doesnt get much at
 You can solo forever though which is nice but you run the risk of assholes in packs of 2-3 running around attacking you while your killing a mob so kinda dumb. dont get me wrong im great with PvP but common guys at least challenge me to a duel its annoying to be attacked by 3 of you  so I personally will not play this game but hey maby its for you... good luck

Well, there are supposed to be PvE servers (Ides of M. can correct me if I'm wrong about that) which will limite the PvP to the Battle Square area. I believe that is what I read from one of the Gm's. So, if people like the game but don't like getting ganked then that might be an option for you. |

The Game is fun,simple,you can do a lot in an hour or less,you can Solo or Party and get about the same XP..unfortunately it has a lot of Bugs like getting stuck in a City Myself I did pre-purchase AL but can not imagine playing it for more than 6 months. |

Actually, you CAN have a review of a game after level 10. What is a game? Its supposed to be entertaining, and this game simply isn't. Why play a game that makes you more bored than banging your head against a wall? Its just plain stupid to be that stubborn to say "You have to play till lvl 50+ to make a review about how boring this game is" No, I wasn't suprised about the limitations of character customization, but come on, its 2006. The standards have been raised back in 2004. This game is a dated POS and its people like you who are going to be suckered into playing it upon retail, and I laugh at you now buddy. GG wasting your money on a piece of crap that will have the smallest community in existence. |

And it's posts like that I sit here and can't help but laugh at. So you're saying you can review a game after level 10. You're saying you can tell me how good or bad the entire MMO is after experiencing a few hours. It completely makes sense. You can form an opinion of the game to level 10 and perhaps decide for yourself if you want to play the game or not. Sure, I can easily give anyone that. But in no way are you in a position to come here or go anywhere and write out five paragraphs and title it "ArchLord Sucks Ass" and give us a report of why you liked/disliked the game and expect us to treat it like a full-fledged review and not respond/disagree. That'd be like the folks over at Game Informer or EGM magazine playing the first five hours of Final Fantasy 12 and their review states, "Though the graphics and battle system are very detailed and intriguing, the story left much to be desired and felt incomplete." Then they would wonder why their subscription rates nosedive. And I really love how you assume that I'm buying this game and am a fanboi. I really do. Because guess what "buddy"? I'm not - I haven't played this game via beta in the past week, I don't plan on purchasing the game upon retail, and I don't plan on paying the monthly fee. It's got its highs and lows but it's not what I'm personally looking for in a long-term MMO. If you're going to make assumptions at least get them in the ballpark. Lastly you say this will have the smallest community in existence? You are hilarious. Go take a look at any independently run game and tell me about how big the community is. Go hop on Minions of Mirth right now and tell me how many people you see on the server. When I played I saw about ten players. How about you? |

But i guess theres already an Al trollfanclub around here which is camping posts just to get a higher postcount with some useless flames and rants. I'm not a "fanboi". There are some things i dont like about AL and they better get fixed. This game can become good, CM just needs to grab the chance actually. |

I agree this game can be good and its not so bad currently, I'm currently playing because I'm a fileplanet member so why not give it a shot. I'm not so sure I'll keep playing when it goes live, but it will keep my attention till lotro beta.

Koreans make little plastic toys that are crap. They also went as far as to break international law and try and launch a missile...that didn't really work. When I was 6, I built model rockets that covered a greater distance. I'm not saying this game sucks, because I haven't played it, but seriously I don't expect much. JP. But seriously. I have also noticed a lot of bad arguements on the AL forums. You little chilluns should learn how to debate. And you can't really complain about a game that's free and still in beta. If it's not for you, it's not for you. That's like saying Tool sucks; they're really talented but you may just not like their style (but I do!). If you don't like it (a tool cd/ archlord), don't buy/pay for it. Woo! |

The people who are saying this game sucks are maily people who are from WoW jsut because it doesn't play like WoW doesnt mean the game sucks!
It funny when a person 1st logs onand says i qouls play if it had wow controles. however people dont even know that the controls are being worked on. And in wow on a pvp server a lvl 60 can go kill lower lvls and nothing happens at least this game offers something to somewhat stop that. This game have introduces a lot of cool new features like able to trade with anyone in the world at anytime, or sell stuff from anywhere on the AH. Gear isn't BOP!!!!! huge win! An remember is is only the beta. Wow had a lot of problems too in beta! Just dont be bias cuz it not WOW! I play WOW to but i come in with an open mind and cant wait for a game to take over wow!

Nope, not right, I read the actual features and FAQs on the game and based on the detailed info the developers of the game posted I determined it's not a game for me. I dont like fast leveling, I hate instances. Ive seen screenies and didnt liek the gfx. I dont like pvp without punishment or purpose. Ya see some of us dont have to play a game for a month to know if we like it. Sorry, you bet wrong you lose........ |

So Lilith was right, you never played it. No comment about that. This games like zero instances and its not fast leveling. There is punishment for pure pk'ing. Its beta and no one cares what happens wiht their chars since they get wiped anyways. IF you get into the villain point system to deep, you can trash your char then. Do you even talk about AL? I can recommend reading at least the manual and i guess that post would look not like this now. |

that I do not think can be fixed in a few weeks.....and from what I know about the "engine" I would not be surprised if there are already Bot Programs available.
