If you guys are here to provide unconstructive criticism then get out. I mean literally, are we in third grade? People make this game and whether or not it is good, they should be respected. Provide ways to make it better, don't bash it. If you don't have any nice or at least constructive to say, then don't say it. I am sick of these forums and their stupid posters who have never played the game and still bash it. Vanguard is 6 months away from release and is just halfway through beta. That is a hell of a lot of time to polish out the rouch edges.

Fine, but then you're not allowed to say anything positive about the game unless you've played it. Also since it's under NDA, if you have played it then you're not allowed to talk about it on the forums. So no one's allowed to discuss the game at all! |

Wow, what an extremely mature response. From what we know, given off of the main website or official fansites, we can offer constructive criticism....CONSTRUCTIVE CRTICISM. I guess you are implying that the only way to talk about the game is through bad criticism because you seem to disregard constructive criticism.

I have a stinking suspicion that you classify criticism as "constructive" when it's something you agree with and classify it as "unconstructive" when the person is saying something you don't want to hear.

What about the people who say the game is bad... that have played the game?
Current MMO of interest: Vanguard: Saga of Heroes |

It has to be both ways. |

I'm pretty sure that you, like a ton of other people on this board, define CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM as praise of Vanguard with maybe some minor correction thrown in. EDIT: Especially since in your OP you said " If you don't have any nice or at least constructive to say..."; you want people to praise the game, not provide real ciriticism of it. Plus there's absolutely nothing wrong with simple criticism of a game; that's the purpose behind boards like this. People should be able to come in and get a picture of good and bad points about the game, not just hear fanboys singing its praises. Plus, a lot of what people are criticising Vanguard for is its fundamental design; the only way to show 'methods of improvement' would be to suggest totally changing the game. I think it's pretty telling that Vanguard fans get very irate when people talk about the basic design decisions behind the game and how they relate to what people expect. |

i will agree that this is a silly topic and people should be able to speak their mind if they like/dislike something. what i cant stand is when people come in here and try to get under peoples skin just for attention, or when they complain about the same damn thing over and over and over again. like a good example would be the freaking raid topics (no pantastic I'm not referring to just you) i mean we have a few people who only post on that one topic and make post after post about how they hate raiding and how they think it is a bad game mechanic. yeah it gets really old after the first 500 posts i read about the same damn thing, is it a big deal? not really...but after a while its nothing more than spam and i just ignore it. and to the OP, if it bothers you that much just don't read the posts. these topics and negative posters are not going away...they have a right to their opinion just as much as you do. just think of it this way, vanguard is getting a whole lot of attention because of its potential to be one of the next good mmorpg's to be released next year. with all that attention expect good as well as bad opinions of the game, its just the nature of the beast. |

First of all you are assuming that i only like good comments about the game. Sure they are fine but constructive criticism that is exposing a bad attribute of the game is good as well. I have plenty of things that I think the they should change. I think they should make the game less hardcore. I think they should include cloth simulation and hair simulation (look at the vids if u have no idea what i am talking about). I also think that they should make the game easier to play on lower-end computers. There shouldn't be a death penalty as drastic as described. They should fix mem leaks if there are any. They should include anti-aliasing which isn't there from the movies. They should do a lot of things. See they have problems but here is what is happening that isn't constructive. "This game is going to blow. It is going to be the next DnL. Dude their screenshots suck. It looks like its 10 years old. This is just a copy of every other mmo. OMG they have no instant travel how gay. Check out this article from over half a year ago, the game sucked then in alpha so it must suck now!!! Force grouping is gay. Traveling is going to be soo boring and such a timesink. What a way to screw up! OMG they joined with SOE, now this game is going to suck like SWG and all the other $OE failures." Now that I have had to spell out what the difference is between constructive criticism and immature arguing do you understand better. Btw this doesn't just go for vanguard but it goes for all other mmos in development as well. |

First of all for everyone who is saying "Oh well then you cant say anything good about Vanguard", I dont think they were trying to say that, i think they are just trying to say that we are sick of the people who obviously post and troll these boards, Of course everyone had a right to what they say but I think we all KNOW when its just being immature |

"If you don't have any nice or at least constructive to say..."
It seems that you're fine with immature aruing as long as they're saying something positive about the game. And what about the silly title? No one has played the game except for beta testers, and if one of them does post then their posts will be deleted by the mods. |
