Nick Parkinson is a community manager for Sigil's Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. We chatted with him at PAX in Seattle and have this report. You can read more here. |

Is there any doubt that MMORPG,com hates Vanguard. We have seen consistent bias from mmorg.com against Vanguard in all of its coverage of Vanguard from the E3 to this articles. What a terrible interview. The interviewer just goes through the motions of the interview. No new information is added and its fairly obvious the interviewer knows absolutely nothing about Vanguard. The tone of the interview appears that he cares little to nothing about the game. He even goes so far as to take a few shots against Vanguard in his writeup. The forums here are nice but the game coverage here at mmorog.com is absolutely abysmal.
What a waste of Glip's time. Next time you need an interview done have a fan do it. At least they will have some knowledge of the game they are asking questions about. |

You're just jealous because the voices only speak to me. |
Slow travel is slow travel. Every game always starts this way, with the developers claiming they will make travel fun. BS. If things are so bad you need to travel while offline(caravan system) Then they have issues. It will be just another grind. And looks to be another raiders world. I'll pass. |

Great article. This helps clear up some questions about the progress of the game and how sailing works.

What "few shots" did the interviewer take in his writeup? And why in the world should a fanboi write an interview? Its not mmorpg.com's job to "win over" people that'll be left up to the marketing people at SOE roflmao. |

Only as far as we seek can we go. Only as much as we dream can we be. |
I like the idea of teaming up with people that are in the same part of the world. From an immersive point of view, it makes me beleive in the fantasy world better. Compared to other games that have little or no sense of travel, little sense of there being a world, and too many conveniences of point-n-click travel that make some of the world development pointless because much of it is skipped over as soon as teleports become available. I enjoy exploration and having to pay attention to the lands as I travel. Or will hope on a vehicle if I want the game to take me somewhere. There should be things to do while traveling or stopping off points, so the travel itself isn't just a time sink for immersion purposes. The caravan system sounds like a great way to keep up with the travels of your friends. The truely large world aspect sounds like it could be a good way to make new friends. |
