Hey I seen that it has been posted SOE is working on Classic Servers. Is this true? It has also be mentioned that since the Duck team has taken some losses that SOE may finish before the ducks. The duck estimate for completion was 1 year. So can we expect classic servers from SOE within 1 year? I thought Classic servers would come before the release of complete. |

You know the best part about this is that so many people hope for this and want it that it's sad in a way. So many people enjoyed the harder complex diverse game vs the NGE, that has just gotta bug the shit out of the Dev team. I do feel sorry for them to see this much work be useless though, even though it was a mistake.. someone did spend time making this mess. |

I would think SOE has the ability to chuck up a Classic server within a day, they more then likely have archives of previous versions. If they wanted to of course ;)

only sticking points to the above from rekrukl are: a. ego....just one ego to block it. that whole face saving thing at work. b. data base back end. SoE is in the middle of the great migration from one database to another, no telling if the older code would have any gotcha's. |

For the record, MY statements of $OE working on their own emu is a JOKE. They're slowly bringing back the old game into the mess of the nge, it is like they're slowly building their own emu of pre-cu.

Sure, all they need to do is throw up the machine they run the demo for the shows on. You know, it would be hysterical if a TON of people showed up at a demo that had machines demoing the gameplay and everyone was lining up to play Pre-CU. *snickers* Start asking questions about stuff in the demo that isn't in the game anymore. I would HOPE they have finally changed that since the NGE is blatantly different now. |

See they got you fooled too. They only thing I will give them credit on for giving in on was target lock and even that is a shotty job at it. Everything else is their new idea's to modernize it, they are just selling it as returning to the old game. Expertize is a perfect example of that. Sounds good, looks good, but very little actual substance. |
