Introduction: Have you ever sat and listened to people? People love to tell stories, and now is your chance to tell yours, and be rewarded for it!

eGenesis, in association with MMORPG.com, is happy to bring you the “My Tale” Writing Contest. We invite players from A Tale in the Desert I, II, and III to come and share their stories from the desert.

Eligibility: Anyone who has ever played A Tale in the Desert, and if you have never played, now's the chance. Go download your free copy now and play for 24 hours free with no credit card info required.

Time: Contest begins at 12:00:01 a.m. E.T. on Sunday, July 23 , 2006 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, August 3, 2006.

How to Enter: Register on MMORPG.com, go to the A Tale in the Desert Forums and post your tale. Please keep all entries within the terms and conditions of the MMORPG.com forums.

Prizes: ATITD music CDs, autographed t-shirts, 3 months free game time, Book Collection of Alvin Maker our next MMO, and maybe a rubber chicken.

I believe you ment 24 hours for free.

You also mention that a winner will recieve "our next MMO." I thought the Tale in the Desert series was soley subscription-based; will this change in the next ATITD reincarnation, or do you guys have a whole new game planned?

The bone-chilling scream split the warm summer night in two, the first
half being before the scream when it was fairly balmy and calm and
pleasant, the second half still balmy and quite pleasant for those who
hadn't heard the scream at all, but not calm or balmy or even very nice
for those who did hear the scream, discounting the little period of time
during the actual scream itself when your ears might have been hearing it
but your brain wasn't reacting yet to let you know.

And we have a whole new game in the works , but we will still continue to improve ATITD.

"Are the stories told in character, or OOC testimonials by players, or either?"

The answer is either, thier could be a winner for both.

According to the Wiki:  The Tales of Alvin Maker is a series of novels by Orson Scott Card that revolve around the experiences of young man, Alvin Miller, who discovers he has incredible powers for creating and shaping things around him.  It takes place in an alternate history of the American frontier in the early 19th century.

What this has to do with a Desert and MMO is anyones guess - im hoping for the 3 months free but the book sounds interesting.

The books are pretty interesting,being set in an alternate reality, early america. I just hadnt heard any rumors of a game being built around it.

Yes, we have yet to release any information. Other then Mr. Card and Our Lead developer are on pretty good terms.

I would expect news on the game in October.
