Yeah , hi its me monkeytroll Ive got to say ive been looking forward to this game for a long time and well i logged on today and had a look at a few screens now i no most pre-realse date screens are on the best graphics cards out but i got to say these are the kind of graphics you expect from a early 90's nintendo 360 shooter and not a major-hype mmorpg we all set are hopes on because we have no faith in disney to make a good pirates mmorpg (dnt get me wrong love the potc films) So whats with these graphics??? they take me back to when i was in pre-school Monkeytroll

Im supprised TBH as all of my guild think the graphics are fantastic. Its not WoW graphics for sure but I think WoW is plain cheap looking. POTBS graphics are a little more SWG looking . TBH I much prefer those to WoW type look .As I think the complete oposite to you Im guessing you play WoW . Your opinions of course are valid but I cant agree at all I think POTBS graphics are fantastic. |

Read my sig , ive never played WoW never will but seriesly i love real-looking graphics like swg but these are low qaulity real-looking graphics kinda like the stuff u get on games wear u pay some 20p a month to play Monkeytroll

Im not sure what you're seeing but the one definite plus to this game is definitely graphics. Have you see the screenies of water ??? It looks totally amazing. The wake behind boats, the ripples, the foam, etc its without a doubt the most realistic Ive ever seen

I have to agree with admriker. The graphics on the water and wake *I* think are totally awesome. One thing I will say is that with water images like that you'd think the the actual ships would look just a little bit better. Still looks great though.

I was going to mention that the game looks fantastic as far as the screen shots go. I wonder if you wandered into a place with the old graphics still up. They totally reworked the graphic engine. The work going on with the develop's ships and the ones being created by the community has opened my eyes to a whole new world. I've become fascinated by the ships of the period and they are doing a simply amazing job on that aspect of the game. Captain John Matin |

Excellent reflections, good looking water, but.........If you have ever been to sea or sailed you will realize what all is wrong with the picture. Still blows away any competition (oh wait there is no competition other then Disney's upcoming game), but like so many others that have been burned by other small companies (DnL for instance) I really am starting to have my doubts. Hope I am wrong. |

Graphics shouldn't decide whether or not you buy a game...it's just like movies these days...in the early o's, movies were filled with stupid special effects, now people know that without a good story, the special effects mean nothing...same goes for games in my opinion...I want content, not graphics... and I think the graphics are some of the best i've seen...but whatever. |

I agree with you. This game has cheap looking graphics, a bit like the ps2 game Grand Theft Auto,(liberty city), but worse. I can't belive its rated 7.0, ranked third place in the most anticipated games colleum....They should put Godsand Heroes third for me =) |

I guess all these "Best Graphics" awards they've won didn't do it for you, huh?
Personally, I really like what I've seen. Graphically this is a truly superior MMO... leaps and bounds beyond almost every other mmo I've played (if you exclude stylized graphics like WoW, or CoH). Animation is something entirely different though - and I haven't seen any of the gameplay video so I'm not going to jump the gun on that one. However, as far as textures, texture mapping, and reflection mapping is concerned, PotBS certainly goes the distance.

Let's not get our game developers confused...Pirates of the Burning Sea is NOT a Disney project. Their recently announced product is supposed to be an mmo called Pirates of the Caribbean. You folks are discussing two different games. The graphics I have seen for PotBS look beautiful. I just hope the shiny water doesn't scare my DELL. |

Monkeytroll, you are seriously delusional if you think the graphics displayed so far in this game aren't something to behold. Put down the crack pipe... it isn't your friend. By the way, punctuation is your friend! It's too bad stupidity isn't painful. |

the ship and water in that screen look very good, but the complete lack of foilage on the small island there is a huge oversight, unless that hasn't been added yet. |
