Played Everquest for 3 years (at least) Played Everquest 2...briefly Played WoW alot Played EvE..got bored. Playing Wurm online atm and various other games and betas....want something new. I dislike pvp unless its done well like WoW. I like crafting but not when its gets silly like in Everquest. I like soloing more than grouping, but like a decent online community and world wide chat not limited like Entropia (which is a rip off DONT play it) I like fantasy and futureistic even historical Im bored find me a game |

You almost got me to spill my coffee with this blaspheme.... WoW got the most horrendeous pvp ever... i really cant advice you on any game if you like WoW's pvp... |

Yes, I literally spit the coke out of my mouth But honestly umm... The Saga of Ryzom has a good crafting based community that is mature. The entire armor economy is based off the crafters, making it so that you could do nothing but havesting/crafting if that is what you desire. The community is extremely mature, helpful, and friendly. The first day I hit mainland (when I reactivated my account a few months ago) two different people came up to me, gave me armor for hunting/harvesting (different stat boosts) and gave me catalysers (xp boosters) for nothing. They have a new noobie island where the game is free as long as you don't leave the island, which is nice. The skill system is completely open, so you can be a fighter, nuker, healer, harvester, crafter, whatever. This way you are not restricted to only playing with your caster friends for instance. If someone needs a tank, you can specialize in it if you take time, you can basically specialize in anything if you have the time on your hands. I advise you to try out the noobie island, and if you like it from there, keep it. The game has a great community, and no PvP other than consensual areas known as outposts (guilds fight for control for their religious factions, etc).

Not tried either but Saga of Ryzom and Roma Victor could be along the lines of what you're looking for. Roma Victor is historical and has crafting but has a bit dated graphics. Saga of Ryzom, some people looking for a community have enjoyed.

yea ive gotten bored recently with everything lately and i need something new to play as well, but nothing ever measures up. WoW played it for a long ass time, but got boring cause the pvp there is shit CoH/V got boring arena pvp is pretty weak SWG had me interested for a long time until i hit apprentice jedi and they came out with a shitload of expansions and couldnt keep up Diablo nothin really bad to say about this even though its not mmo, it just got old and i needed to update :) Ultima Online best mmo ive played in my life until they released so many damn expansions i got tired of it and quit (this is what my ideal game we be based around such as the risk and reward system pvp that they had) any suggestions?

I paid for Roma Victor and was sadly disappointed, but its a game underconstruction and there is room for improvement. The Saga of Ryzom, it has decent reviews, an interesting site and a free trial.....downloading it now, thank you very much for your input guys. |

Yeah it can be, since your looking for a new game also that means somone could be suggesting an allready established game (such as Ryzom as above posters have mentioned) and dosen't necesarily have to be placed under the Open Beta topics. I also would agree with the suggestion on Ryzom, its a strong open game with a good community from what I hear. I only did managed to play it months ago on it's trail, and in it's open beta. But I would still say it might fit what your looking for. DAOC might also, while it is an old game it does have a decent crafting system and threeway realm PVP and does also have a trial. A major credit card is required though. CoV/CoH would also be a possible suggestion. And while an above poster mentioned it's arena pvp lacking, with the addition of CoV there is a bigger scale of combat that is a bit more entertaining. CoH/CoV, however, has pretty much no crafting system though and I'm not sure if it still has a trial. Avoid SWG like the plague if possible (no offense I hope to those still playing it), the game has gone a bit downhill since the recent changes and thier previously strong crafting system has been shot...FFXI could be a possible choice, however it has no triall as far as I can tell and I'm really not sure on the pvp. If you can't seem to find one you like from those, or ones mentioned by others in this topic, could try just checking the game list and going from highest rating down. Hope the info helps somewhat.

Well i would have to say FLYFF!!! Its a fun game with a shout method allowing you to talk to the whole Island your on. But you also can buy gpotato with real money and buy a scroll letting you shout over the whole server. Pvp system isnt to bad i think which i dont pvp much cause i usally suck at it lol. They use a arena on all servers that allows you to duel people in it which you have to ask them to duel. Then each "cluster" has its own pk server where you can pk anytime cept in towns i think. Cluster is collection of servers. It has 3 clusters totaling 12 servers with 4 servers on each cluster. You have 4 job classes which you can select from once you get to lvl 15. Until 15 you are a vagrant class. At level 60 each job class has 2 jobs to pick from but you must do quest also at 15 you gotta do quest but its not hard. And this week we should get a new job class which will be nice to test. Community is nice i think. You have guilds which you can form or join or niether. You got 100 levels to do so that keeps you occupied if you like to level also you have quest and such. Also in a guild if you have mostly level 70+ members you can fight a "boss" monster named ClockWorks and it has 62million life i think so its one hell of a battle. The other "boss" monster is not out yet but said to have over 225million life. This game rules in my mind.
