Hello, i'd like to start off by saying that this is an excellect community and it's nice to post for the first time. Anyways, as you can see in the topic I am looking for an another game that is similar in the idea of not having to grind or grind very little to Guildwars. I almost exclusively play PvP in any mmorpg I have played unless I somehow better off myself by pveing. In other words, I enjoy playing as much as my busy schedule permits which is little but guildwars just got very boring overtime. If anyone knows any games that come to mind please let me know.

What you're looking for doesn't exist, unless you wanna degress a few years and go play Diablo 2. Unfortunately, until game devs grow some balls and stop churning out dumbed down EQ clones, grind is and will remain a major factor in any MMORPG

It got boring as it has no level system or game progression :) Levels have one major reasoning behind them - it gives the developers time to produce more content while you sit on your butt levelling.
Aside from that - try planetside if you like fps. Tbh it sounds like youre better off sticking to fps or playing a grinding game and jus not worrying about the grind? -- |

I honestly cant give any gamez that I havent left because of grind.
BUT ill list the 3 WORST grinders, which means dont ever play these etc.etc. 1. LINEAGE 2 - Worst grind ever. 2. Final Fantasy XI - IF it didnt take 3295205 hours to make a party the grind may be decent. 3. Maple Story - sweet christ, never play this. |

You have to understand that every game is a grind in some form. The only thing you can really do is decide what kind of grinds you look foward to. For you, that's PvP. So you want to find a game that doesn't take a lot of time, has an expansive world, and a developed PvP system. Unfortunately, I don't know of any that exist :P The ones I can think of (like EVE) take lots of time.

Wait and hold your breath and pray that Mythic delivers with Warhammer Online.

DDO or maybe gunzonline if you like fps, not strictly a mmorpg but follows a similar format with actual decent gameplay.

just because it has a heavy grind does not mean a game isn't fun. If you only look at the grind, then you will never enjoy an MMORPG. |

Diablo 2 seems to be my best bet at this point, until hellgate london.

For some people, grind simply equals 'no fun'. ------------------------------------------------ Playing: Guildwars, single player games |

I have found it! DAOC, level 50, attainable in 1 week (if you PL like a mofo and get into the right guild, otherwise it takes like 1 month if you play alot. It took me like 4 months but I am a VERY casual gamer, (1-2 times a week). The games PvP is abosulutely stunning. Keep in mind this is coming from a guy who has only played GW (my first MMO), then DAoC. You will love it trust me! For an even shorter grind join the classic servers. The game and every expansion costs like 40$. BUt it does have monthly fee of 14 hope that helped Guild Wars - Rorick Aurlith E/Mo pumped up with the best armor and weapon, has all his skills, and runes. PvP King! Dark Age of Camelot - Leaton 50 Vampiir - Lamorak - Guild: Magic and Mayhem! |

I think it's about the advancement and progression during the grind that is key here. If you get the feeling your character is constantly advancing and changing and progressing as you grind then a grind can be fun and not to bad. If you don't have that and only advance in any signifcant manner only sometime then the grind is horrible. So which of these two if Lineage 2 I wonder? Having never played it I'm curious. |

I recommend Rakion. It's a great game with no grind. It is also free but you can pay for it and get "benefits". However it's not an MMORPG.

I'm going to give DAOC a try and maybe even DDO. As long as they got good pvp and little grind any game would be great! Questing is definately alot more entertaining if it must be done then just plain grinding, at least in my opinion. I appreticate all the help, thanks.

Lineage 2's leveling progression is so slow that you really don't feel like you are accomplishing much for how much time you put in. If you tend to go insane while grinding(like I do), I would not go anywhere near this game. Sure its endgame sounds fun, but it sure is a TON of insanely boring gameplay getting there. --------------------------------------------- |
