I ws wondering if they would give you a class that allowed you to beam aboard enemy ships with some NPCs and kick the a#%es out of the guys there.

Being part of an away team would be a vital part of STO to complete the Star Trek expierience.

I don't know much about the very little info released on STO, however I did read that there would be no "Space Marine" class.

That is correct, however there will be a security class. Additionally the ability to board an enemy ship has also been confirmed by Perpetual. |

Then what should the marine class be able to do that the security class can't? As I told you every class already has the boarding capability, so that takes care of your only activity. Further more there will only be three professions, so having an additional one, so similar too the security class sounds like a waste. Ans lastly: What prevents you from choosing your skills so that you become the marine you wanted, but starting with a security officer? |

Space marine? Do Star Trek universe even have a space marine?...........They have awayteams, witch include :
1. Security (soliders) 2. Medic 4. Science (in the respective field needed) 5. Guests and nobodies that are going to die and just are ther as guests in ST. |

Best Captain poll:
Kirk is the man...He is the one who set the high bar (as Captains goes). Picard was just an excellent follow up....keeping the Star Trek concept growing/expanding. Who was the worst Captain? Janeway hands down...I hated her whispering...and her voice agggh!!!!! |

I think sisko turned out to be an excellent commander himself. In terms of performance, yes, picard > sisko, but then again, picard got 4 movies and sisko got none.
but how cool is it to die and become a prophet? hey, there WERE space marines, remember the MACOs from Eneterprise? |

Originally posted by SWGguyI would hope that beaming aboard other ships will be rather rare, especially since everything from a ball of yarn to whipped cream tends to block the transporter signal (I exagerate, I know). Anyway, it would have to be the last part of the attack you could do this, after the shields are gone, there are no electrical storms, no jamming, blah, blah. But I do hope there is a marine class. That would be fun to play. -W. |

Yes, and people like you are why there shouldn't be marines in STO. It has been proven on Star Trek forum RPGs that marines are n00b-bait. Little boys who have wet dreams about the army and don't know how to spell are attracted to them. |
