Nope they arent making it nor are they "Buying" Sigil out.. but what YOU Fail to realize is that SoE Will be providing Technical support, Server infrastructure. Marketing.. In game petitions etc.. i would presume.. Billing etc. etc.. Also once the Game is out.. SoE Can use ther Leverage to Persuade Sigil into developing content which they think would be more beneficial to what they think their customers want. Which is exactly what happened Right After Brad left SoE in Everquest Scars of Velious. |

What if $OE get's the majority of the shares in Sigil? Then they have a iron tight grip around Brad's balls and they can pursue their vision of a Wow killer. A couple of weeks/months ago $OE had nothing to do with Sigil. Now they are copublishing. What next? |

i know someone who played eq2 and he had three characters. one of the characters wouldnt log on for some reason. so he went to tech support, they told him to go a GM. the GM told him go to the tech support. my friends other two characters were just fine, it was just that one character. it was obliviously on SOE side was the problem, yet SOE never acknowledge his problem and fix nothing. he end up quitting because of the crap SOE gave him. |

I think the people who look silly are the ones that think everything we are told is the always the whole truth, the fact is that business changes everyday and what is said here today could be a utterly different story 6 months into the game. Because we are told here and now that SOE has very limited input into the game has little to do with what could happen a year into the game, for some people SOE having anything to do with this game feels so wrong on so many levels.

Frankly I think you're the fool, not him. If more people felt as strongly as your friend about the products we buy then maybe we wouldn't have to put up with bad products like SWG or SUVs rolling over. If more people hit companies where it really hurt them (ie their pockets) instead of whining about it on Internet forums then maybe the big companies would start asking "how can we make this product better for our customers?" instead of "how can we save money and cost cut on this product?" Your friend isn't cutting his nose off to spite his face, he is sacrificing a show that he likes in order to make a stand over another.

As long as SOE gets any money from this joint venture, I will not be playing this game.

I was looking forward to Vanguard and I still am.
If I can sub to it via Station Access then that will be a bonus and personally I have had no more problems with SOE than I have with NC, Mythic etc etc. If, after a period of time, it becomes clear that SOE are manipulating the game and making it worse by thier interference then I will un-subscribe. What I am not going to do is throw a tantrum over what may or may not happen at some unknown point in the future. I can understand the people who refuse to give money to SOE due to feeling they have been poorly treated ( crapped on in the case of most SWG players ) in the past, but other than that I feel folks are cutting off thier nose to spite thier face. |

Horrible news. This will be bad for Vanguard fans. |

LOL, so much for Vanguard being the game all the current and former SWG players will run to... As far as CS goes, if you don't have a SWG character, create one and see firsthand the "quality" *cough* CS SOE provides... |

Wow, are you people all blind? SOE has one major blemish on its record, and its not even known how much of it was their fault. Lucas Arts was pressuring SOE to make changes and I dont think anyone will actually know the true story and who was responsible for what. EQ...For a game to still have as many subscribers in a post WoW world (and after a sequel) is pretty impressive. Some may not like the direction EQ took, but many feel that the game is better today than it is the day Verant left town. EQ2...plenty of games seem good on paper but turn out to be crap. However SOE has definitely listened to its fanbase and EQ2 is a MUCH improved game today thanks to chnages they have made, mostly based on what the playerbase wanted. MxO...only thing i know about this game is it was supposedly awful when SoE took it over anyway.... EQ2 had a flawless launch from a technical standpoint. Day 1 servers were up and playable. Badf launches can hurt games indefintiely (AO, Horizons) and Sigil knows that their launch will at least not be a technical disaster. Its not like they sold the rights to Blizzard, who has shown with WoW their customer service is twice as bad as SOE and you cant even log on to the game somenights due to a horrible authentication process/login server. And unexpected server crashes are par for the course for WoW. And Sigil still has full creative control, so they are just going with a publisher and they have the best one out there. No reason to be anything but happy about this.. |

There are many that I could think off. But I guess $OE was the one that offered the most $$$. |

Yes there is no reason to go berserk over this. If you had the choise betwen having to see the game go down into the trashcan and this, what would you chose?
The funny thing is that some people would chose to never see it again, so much do they hate SOE. It's like Yoda said, Hate leads to suffering, and unhappines. And it's exactly what this is, just because people hate SOE they are ready to rip out their own heart and stab out every part that once loved Vanguard. It's sad really. (Oh, and get Vanguard up on the hype-list again!) Formerly known as Royal Arcanist |

SOE has the most experience and has proven it can ahndle a launch flawlessly and has servers that crash very infrequently. I doubt theres any other company that you would feel safe trusting your servers too. Its not like they are trusting their game to it... |

SOE has already publicly stated that Lucas Arts gave them full license to do the NGE alterations. There was no LA pressure (or, if there was, SOE took the full responsibility upon themselves). However, if you add up the facts that they've systematically dismantled and crippled an ahead-of-its-time MMO over three years, provided really crappy customer service, and continually/tragically misjudged the MMO market -- how does all that add up to their association with V:SoH actually being a good thing? Even if they have no power to effect the design of the game (we'll see how long that lasts), they are still making money in some fashion off the subs, and I will not support SOE in any way, shape or form. -------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Flawless?
Since when? SWG has been buggy since day 1 there are still bugs in that game that have been there since Beta I was hoping to play this game, but even if it is for marketing purposes, SOE will not get one red cent of my money ever again. So no I will not play this game now. |
