MMORPG.com''s Veritas and Aequitas

1. The account creation is almost immpossible unless you get it right on the first try and don't realize how frusterating it is.

2.The servers go down on weekends and weekends only. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm how many people like to play on weekends? EVERYONE!

3. Customer Service. You have to call them to get a somewhat immediate response and it is a crappy recording that gets you nowhere. If you send them an email it will never get responded to, and if you open a case it gets answered in 3-7 days. THAT is a LONG time to have to deal with your problem.

4. Account deletion. You have to call them to cancel your account and you have to tell them your CC number for security. Hmmmm very secure. You can go to Ibill.com to cancel but you need to put in all of your information like CC #, name on card, veri. # to get close to the swift death of your account.

5. Getting billed for the 1st month. Yes. You get bill for your "free" month. You get it refunded the next month but it still appears on the credit card.

Not trying to flame, in fact HZ is a fun and fresh game but it get olds quick and it is not even worht the hassle.

"It''s OK... I''m a leaf on the wind! Watch how I soar!"

Hmmmm.... I don't agree:

1. The Account Creation wasn't that bad for me, I didn't see what the problem was, I know alot of people posted about this, but I just don't get it. If you tried to play Shadowbane during the first couple days of release, THAT was an acount creation nightmare, Horizons was a breeze.

2. The servers go down on other days than weekends. In my opinion they have done very well about staggering the times of updates so they're not always at the same time on the same days. I played QUITE a bit over the weekend, but then again, maybe thats because I didn't chose an overcrowded server to call home.

3. I can't comment on this,. havn't had to deal with customer service at all.

4. Once again, can't comment as I havn't felt the need or even remote desire to cancel my account.

5. Ummmm nope, speak for personal experience, I didn't get billed for the first month.

Not trying to flame or invalidate your opinions, just trying to point out to the people who may be reading who have no idea about the game that the problems you listed are NOT happening to everyone who plays.

Nor am I tryign to say the game is perfect, I'm not, it has problems I don't like also:
1. One helluva memory leak for one.
2. VERY slow NPC and Player load times.
3. Lack of documentation either in the manual, in the strategy guide OR online about some fairly important aspects of the game such as housing and training points.
And some others I can't think of atm, but I expect these kinda bugs in the first couple months of launch. So far Horizons launch hasn't been too bad, I've been part of MUCH worse (Anarchy Online and Shadowbane).

What happens with a memory leek. does it do any long time permanent damage to my computer?

That was really only a problem that first week, I'm sure.  Even so, I got it done and so did many others.  I don't think this is an issue any more.

While they work on stability, etc..., the servers are going down pretty much every day.  They stagger them one at a time, so you can still play...maybe just not on the character you'd like.  Heck, the downtime lasts about 5 minutes sometimes...I don't see this as a problem, especially compared to the 6+ hour "all server" windows EQ would have.

Haven't had to bother with this, but that sure sounds bad.

They can probably streamline this, but I doubt it's high on their priority list.  Hehe.

Didn't happen to me.  I got a statement with $0.00 due, just like it should be.  Sounds like something went wrong with your account creation process and they credited you for an overcharge.  If you ask me, that's good customer service.

You're entitled to your opinion.  It is a fresh game, and it has a bad rap for being unoriginal.  Sounds like you had some bad experiences and it soured you...shame, really.  You seemed to be a fan of the game.

This game is still very new if your going to get this game the first day of release expect problems. I suggest some people wait atleast a month or 2 before getting this game, right now i'm playing it more then final fantasy.

It just staarts running a lil choppy after playing for extended sessions, simple relog fixes the problem, no damage done.

I've heard nothing but bad stuff about Horizons!
Not a good sign but the game is still new, very new.

Definetly not. Just because I had such a nightmare with this game doesn't mean you won't love it.

One more peeve: Load times. It takes 4-6 minutes to log in [from clicking on the shortcut to playing the game] and 20 seconds load times per teleport.

Load times is something they are actively working on, so says David Bowman.  And they have definitely improved in the past week.  I load in a lot faster to start the game than I did a week ago.  Aso for teleports...that's somewhat true, but then this game doesn't have zones.  You can move from one part of the world to another without ever seeing a l
