Its too early imo. Alot needs to be done, its too buggy and there is next to no advertsing being done. A bad decision on the publishers part. |

Yeah, I have been playing for about 6 months. Its a great game with the people that are there and a lot easier for new players to get ahead since some people used to get rank from popularity. The problem is that if people pay $12, they will expect a lot more for their money. FOM needs a miracle of patches/fixes/new stuff to entice me into paying for it. (They promised a lot of things that are not implemented yet, if i find list, ill put it down here.) |

You'd be suprized, every game has its free loader beta testers. Who cant really work out why people would want to earn money from a game. The beta lasted way too long, and it IS ready for the release. |

I've been reading a lot of opinion about FoM in the past couple of days, most have seemed to thinking that the game isn't ready for release. I haven't paid much attention to this mmorpg, mostly because I currently play a couple others, and I am really waiting for Fallen Earth to come out. But, FoM looks interesting, and I think there may be a good community for this game. I think I want to give it a try, but I'm not sure at all what I am getting myself into. I don't even know too much about the game. Here are a couple of things important to me in a mmorpg, maybe someone could tell me if I should stay away, or if the game may be fun for me. I like roleplaying and storylines in a mmorpg. It's fun when there are things to motivate me other than just grinding out levels and advancing up the skill ladder. I like a dynamic gameworld that changes depending on what the players do with their characters. I like nice graphics, but it isnt the most important. Gameplay is the key, and I always want a good performance with little lag and no crashing. I simply won't play a game that makes it to release but still has these problems. Lastly, I like a mmorpg with a good, mature community that care about the game and making it better and more fun. To me, it sounds as if many beta testers were along for the free fun of the game, and actual testing and reporting of bugs wasn't a common thing . . . This might be a reason for all the negative remarks about FoM going to final release . . . testers have to pay now! All mmorpg are never truely finished, and I have seen a pretty long list of bug fixes for FoM, along with some positive comments about the improvement of the game. I think I may try it tonight, unnless someone can convince me otherwise. RF Online and EQ2 are still fun |

I have been playing since the start of open beta. The game has lots of balancing issues. The good news is that they are patching almost daily. Roleplay and storyline seem to depend on what faction you join. The police and army equivalents have always been a little shy in that department. GameMaster involvement has been hit and miss. So yes, the community has moved on from beta without a lot of younger players who like Counterstrike. The potential for roleplay and storyline is there but not fully utilized yet. I would have to call it a work-in-progress. |
