Ok I only got my copy today and I have played about 5 hours, but geez... Im impressed. Its actually more or less exactly what I have been after in an MMO without even realising it. The way the instances work is brilliant and this is from someone who (until now) had a hell bent hate of instances. Im not gonna try and do some lame review, just say that I can see myself playing this game for a lot longer than anything I have played in the past few years including all the obvious names. I have been doing this since before UO so I have seen them all and played them all. DDO has captured me in a way I havnt felt since EQ1. From the general posts both here and on the official forums.. it looks like Im in the minority though... Oh well if we all like the same things it would be pretty dull wouldnt it. +-+-+-+-+-+ |

Not to burst your bubble, but wait a few weeks/months (depending on playstyle) That was my major issue was that my first 2-3 months was great (in alpha/beta). Then months 4-6 just got very repetitive and boring, which lead to my non-subscription. Maybe after 4-5 more modules like the one they released today, I might consider it. |

Probably true... but thats nothing new... Not many games keep you excited after 6 months. The churn rate in WoW for example is phenomenal, that doesnt make it a bad game. Its just horses for courses and I think this course suits this horse +-+-+-+-+-+ |

I've been playing it for a while (BETA as well) and I like it! It's more of a Co-Op MMOG. It's exactly the 'MMORPG' I need to break my WoW addiction and spend time doing other things until Vanguard comes out! |
