Silkroad Online (SRO) did leave a lot to be disired.  Like a lot of Asian based MMOs, ranged combat was king.  The Bow attack allows you to get to mobs before others do, and get most/more of the exp and items.

I found the more traditional casting magic in SRO to be very weak, which was a little unusual.

Ranged melee ruled, then hth melee, then pure magic.

Also, it seems  to be a farmer/seller haven.  You can just feel a Lineage II atmosphere coming.

Merchants with "signs" that read "buy your <bleep> from me!" and the like were common, indicating a certain amount of childishness of the playerbase.

The graphics were darn good for a free MMO, though.

Seed is not in open beta yet.
I will be around 14 days before launch (wich is currently set for sometime during the start of may) however..so keep your eyes on it ;)

Its the only mmorpg I am personally keeping an eye on at the mo. looks very promising imo

I absolutely hated gunz with a passion, Rakion was allright though, but need some PvE to be interesting, too much PvP gets boring very very fast.

I'm hoping for a BETA test offer of The Chronicles of Spellborn but not

lucky yet. I just downloaded and played Dark Age of Camelot free trial

and that lasted about 30 minutes before I found it to be not my kind of game

(graphics old, couldn't figure out how to strafe easily without changing keys,

too much text to read for me in dialogs & quests, etc.). The combat was ok

but it just didn't *do it for me* I guess I should say. Well anyways, still have

my fingers crossed on TCOS.
