there are no allies, only you and enemies

 

btw, did you noticed that griffons do "counterattacks" to more then one (upgraded version to all) physical attacks against them? :)

Yes sir, I like the royal gryphons and castle type is all I tried so far. Iron golem thingys can be a pain for me with how I set up but I widdle those down by the time they get in melee range with marksmen or druids. Still trying to figure out about the town portal spell, I never see it in my book and I train the heck out of magic.

there is another problem - when scenario (standalone or in campaign) is made, creator can select exactly which spells will be available and which will not - and in some scenarios town portal (and dimension doors) are "prohibited" (it cannt appear in mage guild)

I was reading theres a penalty for having different units with your hero, is it that bad ? also how are clerics for a main hero ?

Each type of hero has its own strengths and weaknesses and when leveling up tend to get skills that are for said hero. Its more of what you think is good. As far as units go, having 3 different faction units will cause you to have -1 morale. But if you already have high morale, it may not be that bad. Or if you have an undead thats already a -1 morale.

obviously a fairy in an army of ghouls, vampires and banshees will probably not feel "at home"...and will be demoralized.

You should have preferably zounds of angels. Don't stop until you reach that! Then obliterate everything in front of you :D

Best heroes game ever, glad you like it OP!!!

Me and a friend used to devote whole weekends to this game and there were MANY of them. Almond paste bread (swedish candy like thing) + soda then later cooked something while we kept playing until the early hours in the morning the day after.

We always played hotseat CO-OP and the largest maps. Necromancer is my favorite.

Today, I play Heroes VI every once in a while.

Yup this is what I get, started a battle while watching pawn stars lol and have no clue what it was but something just destroyed my arch angels. Looked at the screen wtf  /facepalm all I remember seeing was like some gothic / dead looking dude and a black horse with plate. Chumlees antics always distracts me hehe.  Ok new game

some races have bonuses against things...particularly neutral ones.

Ok I see what zounds is . Wow that many angels is some serious funds but I'm getting better at money . Working on a setup to better deal with golems,  Seems magic hits hard against them

when you equip a scroll, it adds that specific spell into your spellbook

When you capture a town, do you build it up or let it sit ?  I'm starting to get into micro management with these towns and several heroes running around.

overall yes, but it depends on situation - if you have a feeling that enemy can come and take it back, you often dont build it up if you dount have strong army to protect it - especially if it is a city on the edge of discovered area (fog of war)

typically I put the moat up and towers...and a few production buildings if very far away or underdeveloped.. when an enemy comes. I recruit everything that had population increase since I got it and stall as much as I can, forcing enemy to bleed by my towers...and to find NOTHING useful inside.

 

its nice if he builds 1-2 extra structures for me in there before my main hero arrives.
