Not sure yet, will have to see closer to launch. Normally this kind of art style doesn't bother me much, but even so it seemed a bit extreme on the cartoony side, particularly the goofy character models.

I'm on the fence with ESO as well, but so far it's seemed pretty shitty, mostly due to the terrible combat/animations. Although it's made an amazing turn-around from scathing criticism to full steam ahead on the hype train in a matter of weeks.

After this weekend, i am still not sold.

The game grew a bit more on me, but i just can't find a class that is fun and gets me hooked. Usually i frown upon any game coming up with nothing but the standard fantasy classes aka mage, hunter, necro etc. and i'm all in for a change. But unfortunately Wildstar isn't executing it's classes too well in my opinion and then there are only 6 of them.

Warrior was the most fun to me and i never play warriors. I miss a real caster and ranged combat, but mobility is mandatory and thanks to cones, everything is closed combat.

And i'm getting a bit tired about just everything in the game has this flimsy touch to it that comes with the cartoon-style. Tiny fonts, tiny icons, skinny body parts etc...

Exactly how I feel...

My friend thinks it's a "skill" thing and I am just not good enough to play Wildstar, but my "skill" lies in other areas than making sure visual cones line up as I spam number keys... Not into Wildstar at all right now..

We can safely say that Wildstar is not for you.

Wildstar is here to remove all the AFK DPS/healing classes from the genre, and it's doing a very good job at it. With all due respect, you have two options - either embrace it and love it, or look elsewhere. Wildstar is a unique pearl that needs to remain as it is.

Yes, you are right.. Mr. Amazing, I submit to your greatness. For because I would rather not it must mean that I am truly inferior to ones MMO superiority..

Bah Tomato, Tomato.. AFK dps? lol... Praise the game all you'd like, but don't sit here and pretend that you have to be some kind of "Elite" player to play it.. I could play it and even train in it and get to the point where I am kicking all kinds of ass, but if I am not enjoying it, whats the point? To prove that I can do it? Nah.. Screw all that noise..

But I will give you credit, you ALMOST baited me.. I was nearly about to roll up my sleeves and say "I bet I can do what he thinks I can't".. Like Pfft.. What was I thinking?

I don't think that some people realise that friendly fire (blue) telegraphs are completely unnecessary and you can turn them off.

You don't actually see that many red enemy telegraphs, its just a few big moves to dodge just like in most other MMOs like TSW, WoW, ESO and SWTOR.

Seriously once you've seen how far your skills go and how wide they arc once or twice, you don't need to see it anymore, and the game looks far better with them disabled.  Such a shame that they keep promoting the game with them turned on, it ruins the amazing animations and spell effects.

Seriously.. did you play WS even once? Even with knowing how large your telegraphs are, it's no viable option turning them off at any time. I've read a lot of fanboyism of you on these forums.. but this is the dumbest statement so far. The telegraphs are a core aspect of the combat system. Turning them off is maybe a good idea for the tutorial zone (i.e. Arkship).. but after that.. no way. Wake up dude.. you're obviously dreaming.

Suffice to say after playing this weekend, the game is not for me at all. Will not go into details with the NDA still up and running. Looks to be good at doing what people who like it want out of it, it just is not the game for me.

Currently Playing: ESO and FFXIV
Have played: You name it

Wildstar telegraphs are highly customizable. They are really distracting and immersion breaking if left on default in my opinion. You can tone down its transparency and outlining to it becomes barely noticeable, just enough so you know that you shouldn't stand there.

Turning them off its a really bad idea. At least enemy telegraphs. Your own telegraphs I m sure that if you eventually play it a lot you ll just turn them off as you already know your character well, or not.

Either way I'm just glad a really good MMO is coming our way finally. A game that knows its a game and not affraid to show it. Games should be fun and this one its lots of fun.

I know that. But even with less bright telegraphs it's a game of staring at the floor the complete time. For some this is much fun. For me it's annoying after some levels. Quite monotonous. I can't enjoy the environment and the beautiful animations.. I have to dodge, roll and run the whole time. Meh.

I somewhat enjoyed WildStar but don't believe it'll keep me entertained for very long. I'm not sure if it was an older beta build, but I experienced a number of performance problems and bugs that need resolving, I also found the UI very intrusive that I wasn't able to alter myself.

I MAY pick up a copy after launch, but I won't be around on Day 1.

eh what? ofc it' s viable when you know the shape and reach there's no need for those blue telegraphs anymore.. all you need to see is the red ones.

The game looks like WoW. There is no discussion on whether or not that is true in my opinion. Personally I like the art direction, it's the gameplay itself I didn't care for.

It most certainly is a viable option.  You would have to have a serious learning disability to be unable to distinguish where your own moves were going.

The red telegraphs in PvE are no more common than in WoW.  PvP is different, but you can tone it down a lot and still see them.

i have a confession to make as a TESO fanboi.

i participated in every weekend beta since xmas in both games and i have to say while i was laughing at wildstar in the beginning and thinking it a game for 8 yr olds, having tested more advanced content recently all i can say is i am absolutely amazed at this game. i cannot go into reasons nor into comparisons with teso because of nda but you can count on me as one of the new converts.

WoW didn't advance anything over EQ, it took a different route entirely.

I would have preferred the GW 2 method of only a few hot skill slots, but all 10 in an aim heavy game like this was terror on my left as well.. Gonna need a real good gaming mouse with lots of configurable buttons..

Well, yes certainly a good mouse helps (I just got a roccat kone XTD which is amazing), but if handling 20-30 buttons in WoW was doable over the years without a good gaming mouse then certainly handling 10 skills wont be all that hard. The one caveat will be movement. In WoW you usually stand still, so pressing all those buttons wasnt too hard. In WildStar having to move AND fight at the same time will be a bit more challenging for sure. But hey, the game is all about bringing the challenge back so its certainly a challenge I look forward to
