Today we have opened the voting in two categories of our Reader's Choice Awards based on write-in support. The voting will last until Friday, January 13th. Full winners from all seven categories will be announced on Monday, January 16th. In the PvP category, EVE Online joins the top two vote getters - Dark Age of Camelot and Guild Wars - in the final round. In the story category, four games were within one percentage point of each other in the first round: City of Villains / Heroes, Anarchy Online, Star Wars Galaxies and the Saga of Ryzom. They'll be joined by Asheron's Call in the final round. Click on the logos below to vote:
Thank you to everyone who wrote in and made sure we got this right. I look forward to seeing the results! Dana Massey |

You must be joking,GW? do you at least know what PvP is? GW doesnt even compare to the other 2 games, i mean come on GW is Counterstrike with spells and swords. best PvP game out there even after all those years is DaOC .Try a PvP server in DaOC and then leys see if u still think GW is a game. |

Who the hell put SWG into best story catigory? SWG DOESNT HAVE A STORY!
Now the first Everquest has a good story, though often ignored by people. |

I liked MMOs better when gamers didn't play them, and just geeks did. |

I've played guild wars, WoW, Shadow bane and DAOC. I would honestly have to say DAOC for pvp. I cannot comment on EVE because I have never played it. Shadowbane had decent pvp, but they had too many bugs and lag in that game.

It's a shame too, i've been actively looking for one.. Hopefully Age of Conan is going to live up to the promises and delivers revolutionary PvP for the public. As of now though, no game comes close to PvP.. Regardless of how this vote turns out..its just guild wars fanbois... GW is a joke compared to the RvR system DAoC created many years back. GOD PLEASE WOULD SOME GAME COME OUT WITH ANOTHER GREAT PVP SYSTEM??? Sorry to EVE and GW.. Both have good aspects, but it's not your fault.... Beating DAoC's PvP(RvR) System is going to be very hard... Too bad DAoC had enough other problems that I couldn't play there anymore(as well as 1000's of other people)... >>> Gynthazi <<< |

EVE pvp 4tw- tis a game where you're never 100% guaranteed to win, even if you've been playing for 2 years longer than your opponent |

Name another successful game where when you die it matters and you can actually demoralize an enemy and take over their territory? That's right, unlike other games players can control terriroty and live in thier own land (or in case of eve, solar systems). Also the pvp in eve is not merely restricted to combat but also in trading, market, and polotics where you are always dealing with another player. Thats right, there is a complete market and player run economy. So DaOC may be a very good game, but no game come close to touching how much eve has done to change the way MMOs can be done. Oh yes and can you say only 1 server with no shards? Now when you go out and make a name for your self and make a big impact on the world, you affect every other player in the game. |

I'll have to re-comment :) I can tell you know quite a bit about EVE and obviously nothing about DAoC. I've played both, extensively.. Since beta for EVE. DAoC does all of these things you listed above. In fact with the revamped frontiers expansion castle keeps are not only taken, but take on different forms depending on the level they are upgraded too... I'm not going to get into all the aspects of pvp that DAoC provides..i'm sure a community manager would be happy to list them for you (they probably have it as a cut/paste somewhere).. All i'll say is EVE, although it has its PvP aspects.. it's nothing DAoC didn't do first (in a fantasy setting of course).. Sorry man.. Again, its just personal opinion on what I think has better PvP, but comparing them line by line on features just destroys EVE...can't argue with facts. The worst of it is DAoC created the same stuff oh..what 4 years ago? Have to give the Edge to DAoC hands down. >>> Gynthazi <<< |

Give it a rest, DAoC is just another generic zerg-fest mm. There is no real purpose or freedom in anything you do in that game. _____________________ |
