First off, i have high hopes about EQN and remain cautiously optimistic about the game. I am absolutely excited about many of the things that we've seen, and a bit concerned about a few as well. Overall i think (hope) that we are all getting worked up over nothing. One thing that does bother me though is where butler says "all tanks and healers did what their guilds wanted instead of what they wanted to do. Tanks and healers had no fun so they refuse to make their players go thru that anymore".
As a tank (and rarely the main tank) in many games, i absolutely enjoyed tanking group and raid mobs. It was (is) a great source of pride for me. Many of the healers i've known through the years have also taken pride in being able to monitor dozens of health bars at once while healing. So forgive me (and flame if necessary) if i take more than a bit of offense at this. Perhaps i've lost touch with the reality of gaming (i just want a game that works trinity or not), but many of us (if not most of us) take a certain pride AND enjoyment in the roles that we have selected to play :)
