The vast majority of us here really want the Kickstarter to fund, so i was wondering, will any of you spread the word about it ? anyone already started ?

Obviously this can help alot and i for one wants CU to launch, so i already started talking about it to my friends, already got a few interested.

About 2 months ago CU wasnt even talked about on the net (started early february if i recall), so its still pretty new, we got to share it !

I have been spreading it to my gaming buddies.  Not all of them are rolling in the money though but word will spread.  The facebook page has gone up at least 1000 likes since I liked it maybe 2 weeks ago.  This is a fairly fast pace for ANY Facebook page so believe me word is spreading.

I don't want to be all negative and all.... However, there is nothing about the game that interests me.

Not liking a certain type of game is not being negative, just means you like something else.:)

 

I have recently dusted off some accounts at gaming sites and am in the process of bringing the game up.

Also made a couple of blogs to get CU info out there.

My twitter account has over 1,000 folks in it and even though it is not gaming focused, people know other people.:)

I would use my facebook account but every time I try to add more friends they lock up my access to it so I gave up on that.

Oh forgot to mention I made a youtube account and am adding all the vids done about CU and encourage everyone to do that.

That is understandable. Some of us, myself included, actually enjoy this part of the process almost as much as the game itself. I have always been heavily into the actual development aspect, so the benefits of access to the private forums, internal testing, etc., are as good as the game launching.

We can always see you at launch!

As for spreading the word, well, I am going to evangelize it as best I can. However, I have no real-life friends that play MMORPGs (anymore) and I am not a huge social networking guy. Also, I have been out of the MMORPG scene for a few years, lurking, because nothing worth playing has been launched, so it is not like I have a guild to bring in. This game has brought me out of retirement! Unfortunately, I cannot lend much support in terms of getting hordes of people to check the game out, but on the forums I do post on I will make sure it gets mentioned.

I've been spreading the world to all of my MMO buddies and one of my friends who is more of a casual gamer is intrigued by the idea of it.  I'm still brainstorming some other ideas on how to get the word out some more.

Of course, why wouldn't you spread the word (emails to friends from past mmos, posts on facebook etc.) obviously spending money on a game that won't be coming out for what? 2-3 years? and who knows what it will be like when it does come out is rather challenging. But spreading the word, sure, only takes a few minutes and helps CU get more publicity.

Thats excactly how I feel, to be honest. In my opinion it is a blessing to be able to participate right from the start. I enjoy being a part of the core-group that discussed the game from day one, even if a lot we discussed maybe never ended up being included. But it has its own joy to stay active from the beginning.

Not only could you influence the game, but you see how the game improves and the community grows. It has something to do with socialisation as well. I am fully aware of the fact, that even with IT Access, which I´ll definitively try to get, it will take quite a while before I see even the first green grassy steppe, which might not even be green at that point :)

But thats ok! A game has to start somewhere, but you can say the same for a community. If no one made an effort to stay active and build a decent community it might not even happen at all early on.

These kind of games aren´t made for people loving singleplayer games. Here socialisation is important and I enjoy discussing, guessing and hoping alongside players I might even end up with on the same server.

Its fun! Its interesting! Its exciting! I don´t need the game to be finished right away for that. Actually I would even feel sad about it. The time from the announcement of a project until it goes live is such an intriguing time - I wouldn´t wanna miss that for anything.

But well, I´m going to work in the game industry myself - so maybe I´m biased here :)

Regarding the "will you spread the word": I founded Simply Gaming almost immediately after I read the project announcement and haven´t been in silence since then. Not going to happen! People will here about that game from me. Again and again :)

That is understandable. Some of us, myself included, actually enjoy this part of the process almost as much as the game itself. I have always been heavily into the actual development aspect, so the benefits of access to the private forums, internal testing, etc., are as good as the game launching.

Thats excactly how I feel, to be honest. In my opinion it is a blessing to be able to participate right from the start. I enjoy being a part of the core-group that discussed the game from day one, even if a lot we discussed maybe never ended up being included. But it has its own joy to stay active from the beginning.

Not only could you influence the game, but you see how the game improves and the community grows. It has something to do with socialisation as well. I am fully aware of the fact, that even with IT Access, which I´ll definitively try to get, it will take quite a while before I see even the first green grassy steppe, which might not even be green at that point :)

But thats ok! A game has to start somewhere, but you can say the same for a community. If no one made an effort to stay active and build a decent community it might not even happen at all early on.

These kind of games aren´t made for people loving singleplayer games. Here socialisation is important and I enjoy discussing, guessing and hoping alongside players I might even end up with on the same server.

Its fun! Its interesting! Its exciting! I don´t need the game to be finished right away for that. Actually I would even feel sad about it. The time from the announcement of a project until it goes live is such an intriguing time - I wouldn´t wanna miss that for anything.

But well, I´m going to work in the game industry myself - so maybe I´m biased here :)

I'm with you 100%.

Being able to contribute even in the smallest way is actually pretty exciting when it comes to something you're passionnate for, and been hoping for quite some time. Obviously i'm not in CSE's office as an employee, not even remotly close, but being able to establish some sense of community with everyone here that share a truthful interest in CU is very satisfying.

The brainstorming with many other future CU players is pretty fun and rewarding.

I'm the type of person that really needs to use my head to imagine / create / think of ideas, problems, solutions (whetther they are good or bad lol) to subjects that i like, and being part of this from the beginning is very rewarding too.

 While we obvisouly not get along with everybody, In the last six weeks i came to know some of you, admire your ideas, debate on them and so on.

Hopefully as the months goes by, approaching CU's launch, more and more dedicated people will join us on a journey that is just as exciting as the destination itself.

I've been looking for something new to fill my RvR needs and haven't had much success. Once news of this game came out and Mark started describing his vision, I began to have a little hope about an MMO again and saw this as an opportunity to be part of the community from day one. So far, I have gotten more enjoyment just talking about Mark's vision here in the past weeks than any MMO I've played in that time. 

I will be dissapointed if the game doesn't get funded but I have been telling all the MMO gamers I know about it to get them involved with I can grab a few more backers outside my wife and myself. So far I think I've got one or two people ready to contribute and working on another lol.

So gamers are not only paying for the deveopment of these kickstarter games but are also doing the marketing now too? How desperate have gamers become that they will actually pay for the development of a game.
