I'd still like to see your "blizzard employee" statement. So please, do copy and paste ... As for your Blizzmmo.com statement: "One thing is certain: if after its launch with Diablo 3, Blizzard believes it does its job, it stays and expands! My guess is that at first it will be implemented in WoW (Titan’s little guinea pig from now on) and will eventually be used on “Titan”." That is the blogger speculating on RMAH, he has no source whatsoever. You're just bashing on Blizzard and Activision for the sake of bashing. Have they urinated in your ceraels or something? |

The title of the thread should be "I hate project Titan and Blizzard and I hope they will burn in hell" D3 is fail, Panda is a big fail, Titan will fail, Starcraft is a romantic fail, anything that came from Blizzard in last several years is fail, Blizzard is fail, life is fail man...
Playing: Nothing atm My game concept thread: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/369707 (any feedback appreciated) |

Originally posted by Nadia Yeah, but WoW still has several million people playing and paying. I can't claim to know what UO has for subscribers but it's certain nothing compares to WoW in terms of subscribers. Games like UO and FFXI that have been around for a decade did well enough in their prime that they can still justify charging for a subscription. As someone posted above, WoW could realistically release their new game whenever they want since they've done well enough with WoW and will probably keep pretty good retention there. The only uncertainty is the fickleness of the MMO market right now. It seems like being neither innovative nor a "WoW clone" is a sure thing. I can't even begin to put my finger on what the average MMO player wants these days. We don't know what Titan will be like, but if it's too similar to WoW..will people just go back to WoW? That's what everyone else seems to do; either that or hop from MMO to MMO. It's a bit of a unique situation since both games are by the same company and logically people would play the newer game even though it may be really similar to the previous one. The other thing that usually has people going back to WoW is their attachment to their character they've built over the years. |

Blizzard is really good at selling products and making little cut scene movies but retaining customers, they bad. Aren't total WOW numbers down to like 9 million from 12 last year? That's around 25% drop!
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL! |

Originally posted by Briansho Customer retention on blizzard games is probably something other developers touch themselves at the thought of mimicing. People still play Diablo 1 and 2, Starcraft and Brood War are still played by many, people still play Warcraft 3 and the original Dota mod for it, WoW has 9 million active players(over 3 million western subs at £8.99 a month), Starcraft 2 WoL and HoTS are hugely popular all over the world and have people playing them for a real life jobs. The only lemon in the bunch is Diablo 3, the retention on that must have been horrendous. ![]() |

Originally posted by Briansho ya wow is a total failure. I mean there's 1000 other games worse than wow in retaining players but we need to keep bashing it. I think you guys have wacky standard. Wow have been out for so many years. Only other game I see that keep growing is eve. So we need to keep bash wow because there's 1 game better than it at retaining players. |

wow isnt going anywhere I just resubbed to it myself for 5.2 to do the new raids and I can tell you both of my servers have not lost any population at all and they are not even as bad as soom of the servers for population. Everyone just about in my old guilds are there still and people enjoy wow regardless of what a few people here think. They can lose another 5 million subs and still be top doog for sure here. But there are vets to this day that have been playing wow since vanilla that have no intention of going anywhere and im pretty sure there are still a lot of blizzard fans that will gladly buy titan just because its a new mmorpg from them. It might not be the next world of warcraft , but it will have a place in the market IMO right next to it for sure.

Blizzard's philosophy of not making inovations, but instead making the game very well executed, didn't work for D3 :) If they apply the same philosophy to Titan, it might go the same way as D3. It worked for WoW because the mmorpg's at the time were not very well executed.

@Claum: for someone who claims to hate everything Blizzard does, you seem to be fixated on their every move and intent on giving a nod to their every product.

Originally posted by Arcona I don't know. They did sell something like 10 million boxes. That is definately a commercial success. You know, in ancient Egypt. One of the hieroglyphics on the walls of the pyramids actually says 'I am upset as my heir will ruin my kingdom' or something to that affect. This is 5000BC stuff and you know what? Nothing has changed. :P |

Originally posted by VengeSunsoar Yes. That's not the point. The they took the mechanics of the mmorpgs at the time and executed them 500% better, so they sold 10000% better than the other mmorpgs :)

Originally posted by Arcona That is the point. You said it didn't work well for D3. 10 million sales says it worked very very well. Improving the mechanics 500% means that it will result in a 1000% increase in sales? Ya neither sales, nor logic really works like that. You know, in ancient Egypt. One of the hieroglyphics on the walls of the pyramids actually says 'I am upset as my heir will ruin my kingdom' or something to that affect. This is 5000BC stuff and you know what?
