It may sound harsh, but i think it is the way to go. Who else remembers the harshness of stepping into the old frontiers and getting killed instantly. I do. Did i think it blew, i sure did. But thats just what made me despise the other realms so much. From the moment i took an arrow in the face from a midgard hunter out there i wanted to improve, i set out to level more, i honed my skills to take out other realm races. Who else stands with me in this feeling? Don't let us be funnelled into false battleground that are just a breading ground for twinked alts to get a fix for killing noobs. Let people work it out for themselves, the way we used to in games. It will be harsh but thats what RvR is about getting into the thick of it and coming out either on top or on the dirt. But don't try to impose your preference on everybody else. CU FP#0: The game must be fun. This overrides all the other FPs. Interested in: TESO, Wildstar, CU |

Why is it the common thread for people against DAoC style BG's seem to be that those people want cannon fodder for themselves that have no chance of winning?

In a game where players can step in and contribute right away, without having to level up in PvE first, battlegrounds really don't serve much of a purpose. I don't see why CU would have them. I don't think Mark wants this to be a game where you can just log on and teleport right into the fray either. |

The same logic will hold true in CU and is one of the reasons having a battleground makes sense. CU FP#0: The game must be fun. This overrides all the other FPs. Interested in: TESO, Wildstar, CU |

The way I see it, the only purpose battlegrounds would serve in a game such as CU would be as a training ground, and if it's possible to make it feasible to go straight into the game instead of stopping by an arbitrary zone that serves no real purpose in the game world, then I think that should be the goal. |
