There are good arguements for both sides. The best solution to this is to beta test it with and without. We can decide then. Pointless to say you are or are not going to play based on CD alone without having a clue about the other game mechanics, class abilities and engine performance. It's what happens to you during a CD or not that is important, not it of itself.
If you want to your opinion to affect the game, buy a beta access during KS, test the shit out of it and give feedback in the beta forum. CSE has 14 poeple on the team list of their site. They need us to test and you can bet their ass they will listen with MJ running the show. DAOC - Krullen - Hero/Tristan |

It's true that it's too early and the best way to have an answer is beta testing. I can honestly say that as much as I dislike CD and other things that go with it from other games it is not a make or break aspect of the game for me by any means. Honestly there isn't much that will make or break the game for me though ;)

If they can pull it off perfectly with no significant loss in performance then I vote yes. In other words, if they can do it right then CD would be nice. Otherwise no.

For all it's faults elsewhere, WAR had fantastically fun combat. The question here isn't the quality of the combat. It's the scalability. After they got the kinks out, keep-level RvR in WAR worked beautifully. It was the Fortress-level battles that people complained about. In those situations I could see the server deciding to switch off CD. Or switch to a simplified version of CD. |

I disagree anyway there are 3 mmos I've played with great pvp - daoc, planetside & eve, all 3 have their strengths depending on what sort of mood youre in. (never played lineage2 and shadowbane)

IMO it's a plus, still nice to use if it doesn't lead to bug & lag

He said he isn't making DAoC2 because he can't legally make daoc2. He has stated many times he wants to make an old school rvr mmo, and the only good old school rvr mmo was daoc so why would you not expect it to have a lot of similarities. Ozek - DAOC |

Hey they should have the same old clunky UI as daoc too.
And keep buff bots! |

Only reason the UI is clunky is because its over 10 years old, and honestly biggest reason I don't still play. I think a dev with his eyes closed now could make a better interface UI. Ozek - DAOC |

I noticed the poll for CD has CD winning here, but the poll of KB,Pulls, and leaps has more people not wanting them. It's funny because with CD you need those things.... it just goes to show people don't really think deeply about things and the consequences of a decision must be put in their face for them to even consider them. With CD comes forced movement abilities. Leaps tend to come as a counter for those forced movement abilities. With leaps you will probably steer away from hard interrupts (that daoc had). A nice little chain that takes away more strategy than CD creates. |

What about a endo based CD like Ultima Online? if you have the endo to do so you can 'push' them out of the way and walk through them. personally CD drives me nuts because when there is massive zergs in an area it just turns into a cluster and you are restricted so much it makes you want to cry or punch a baby. But I could live with the UO method of CD
