Originally posted by Total_Hunt My expectation as well. In fact, I don't expect to see any cutscenes like SWTOR, TSW and GW2 have. Just NPCs with their text having voice over like in Skyrim. ZOS seems to be taking a lots of inspiration from Skyrim already. |

It's not sad at all, it just depends how its approached. I personally loathed the voice overs in SWTOR, but thought they where amazing in The Secret World.

Originally posted by archeageking But I like Voice Overs Zim... ^^ I have no problem with VO's, as long as they are done well, and used well. That was one of the few things I enjoyed about SWTOR. It was all of the other things that piled up, that made me leave the game. |

This isn't news. I know the OP sees 'voice acting' and thinks 'SWTOR', but the simple truth is that MMOs have been moving in the direction of voice acted content since before WoW. (EQ2 had VO before WoW released back in 2004) This is just the trend the industry has been going in for quite some time. Maybe back in the '90s VO wasn't a thing, now it is. It's pretty much expected in most games now. Sure it drives costs, and we can argue about whether or not it really benefits games at all, but it's not going away as long as it's popular; and it most definitely is. |

Why is it that fantasy trolls are vulnerable to fire, but internet trolls thrive on flame wars? |

Originally posted by archeageking So, voice acting in a game is an automatic strike against it just because SWTOR has it and SWTOR is a bad game? Well what about all the games that had voice acting that came before SWTOR and were good? What about the ones that came after SWTOR but are good. Voice acting is not a strike against The Secret World or Guild Wars 2, so why should it be a strike against TESO? Also, SWTOR might be as a failure as an MMO, but as a regular RPG, it is a good game. If they Bioware had taken their ideas for SWTOR and turned it into a single player RPG with possible multiplayer functions, I doubt anyone would be complaining and everyone would be singing Bioware's praises. Since when is Tuesday a direction? |

seriously by your logic any game using the spacebar as a control to jump shoud be a fail game. Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience. |

The bigger waste of money and time is trying to make a 1st person view where you see your hands for the few that are crying about wanting it in the game which they will never use after they see that its worse than playing it in 3rd person.

I'm not surprised, really. I'm more and more convinced this game will be nothing more than three single player campaigns, one for each faction, and then RvR at the middle of the continent. I hope i'm wrong but if this really is the case then VO's fit just fine to the picture.

SWTOR had voiceovers and TESO is going to have voiceovers therefore SWTOR = TESO ? Your logic...it fails |

Last I checked every Elder scrolls had pretty much every npc voiced.. I don't see the issue here. Do you complain about it when playing oblivion? or skyrim? no, so why bitch about it in TESO? As long as the scenes are skipable (because no real mmo player gives a shit about why this random npc needs me to kill 6 bigs), Honestly they should just drop the voice acting and probally save a million or 2 in dev costs. Hardly any mmo's have voice overs and no one has really complained at all about it. I just hope they don't pull a swtor because i'll be honest, the storylines in TES games is about as intersting as watching dog shit ferment on the sidewalk. Oblivion was stupid, skyrim was even worse(shity story and a shit place it took place in.). Also swtor/tsw pretty much proved that mmo's with a story do not work well. Should only be 1 hero in a game, when every tom dick and jane can be the hero in a mmorpg it loses its purpose.

Its going to have the same amount of voice acting as Morrowwind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, and if you played any of those you'd know where their developmental focus was(the rest of the game)

Originally posted by Ryowulf yeah, especally how shit Elder scrolls stories tend to be, I love the gameplay but the plotlines are so bad most of the time. I am also worried about race locking to certan factions, that issue alone makes me alot less interested in the game, I'd rather it be like skyrim, where there are the main races in the faction (in skyrim its nords) but they will accept other races into their faction. Especally when humans got paired up with the fugly orcs. Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either: A.
