Really wish the developers of this game would make the interface a little more customisable. I gave it a try however due to a sight condition i have i couldnt get away with the really samll fonts and no ability to increase the very samll mouse pointer size. Was a shame as the game did look pretty polished. Greatness is difficult to appreciate from close up. The great mountain on the horizon is only the ground when you are standing on it. |

The trouble with this is the developers are afraid of the gold farmers aka botters can easily make programs using those same shortcuts. Also, knowledgeable gamers can use programmable keyboards to have an unfair advantage over other gamers by using 'shortcuts' built into the game.
So, they would rather the game be 'difficult' than to allow the game to progress the way it should be. An example of stupidity on the programmers part is a case in point with Ultima Online. Many of us learned how to speed up our computers so the internet would recognize us over someone else's computer. A legitimate and legl thing you could do to improve your game. UO developers got wise to this and made it so you had to play thru a 'buffer'. No matter how fast you got your information to the computer you were still only as fast as they allowed you to be.
The problem that arose was it changed the way the consumer saw the game on his/her computer, It was no longer 'live play' but manufactured gaming for the convenience of the developers to 'fix' what they thought was an imbalance of playing style.
CCP needs to let this game out of the bag and let the players dictate their style of play. I as well as many others can play from the keyboard if they would allow us to do so. The disadvantage to other players is irrelevant if they choose not to learn how to use their keyboard. Its like comparing a two finger typist to one who types 80 wpm. No comparison.
So, yes I agree we need better control from the User Interface. CSM's had a townhall meeting last week, and it was mentioned that CCP was working on this. When that will happen is anybody's guess. ![]() |

EDIT: Silly me for not seeing this was part of ssunatzu's current EVE-H8 necro crusade. filmoret: One thing I have never figured out is why the game devs hardly ever fix simple problems that arise. It is like they don't care about the pvp community. Nitth: What makes you so sure its a simple fix? filmoret: Because most of them are. Sometimes its just changing a number in a code string other times its creating a few variables. However none of them should take over a few hours of coding. |
