It's sad - and as time goes it starts to turned into a shame - that a game which based so heavily on shuffling around abilities, building different decks, etc. is coming with such a bugged and weak deck management tool... I know there are add-ons for it, but seriously, it's not some convenience issue, deck management is one of the core elements of the gameplay... FC should fix it. |

i enjoy TSW when my character is not moving. Sadly i cannot progress without combat or running around. As soon as i start fighting i lose interest in the game and log out few fights later. The character animations and combat really damage the fun i try to have in this game. I will never stop wishing Funcom remove those from the game entirely and add AoC's animations and combat. They will not do it so, i guess it sucks to be me for wanting to play this game but i dont have fun thanks to those gamebreaking(for me) features. I really like everything else in the game, but the things i mentioned are a really big deal to me. |

I think they should have added world pvp to the game from the start. Having nothing but pvp mini games and no world pvp made me bored with TSW.

Funcom has always had a huge love/hate relationship with me. After DAoC, Anarchy Online was my second MMO (played both really at the same time) and Age of Conan was suppossed to be this OMGWTFAMAZING adult oriented and visceral game, to me it was a whimper. TSW did alot of things right, but they failed terribly with really bad tutorials to grab and hold new players, and expand on their player base, the tutorial needed to explain alot of the inner workings of the decks and synergies. Sure this is kind of dumbing down the game, but an MMO lives and dies with its population. Personally what really turned me off was these amazing CGi movies depicting the game, giving the impression of well rendered avatars. What we got is really ugly character models, with abyssmal animations. To me its really hard to get attached to ugliness in a human character. If its a strange creature avatar (Asuran or Charr in GW2, Wookies in SWG, or any of the creatures from WoW) i can handle ugliness, i even embrace it. If all that is available is thin supermodel avatars then i expect them to look the part, unless i am given the options to make a fat, gross thin, or something other than the supermodel avatars, well then i want them to be nice to look at (Male or Female). The animations are still bad compared to alot of other MMOs, there worse than AoC, how does that make sense? This should have been a top priority to be fixed, i know they did a minor fix but it was not enough.

I think the game is pretty awesome, but you asked about the downers that make me not logging in, so here we go
- builders and consumers in combat have worked in AoC, no idea why they dont feel good in TSW. I think that TSW brought this concept to new hights - not enuff actives and the current ones dont rock da house. The skills is just "plapp" instead of "swuushapp" ... if you understand me here ^^ - no jazzpiano, just the 8 actives, no buttonbars, not many and redundant combat cycles - not enuff social basics, chatscripting (emotes on bar), housing, guild HQ ? Guild content ? - PvP = Fusang or die in SH center because ElDo never worked out. Thats by far not enuff for me. - one of the mainconcerns is right from start, putting Argatha into a dimensional shifted Subway instead of searching for it The whole conspirathy topic isnt what i expected (Nazis at southpole, NWO, NIBIRU, Underground Bases, UFOs) instead its myth and ledgends. I still have no idea, where that fly came from ... i smell phantasy ^^ - i dislike the icons in game. Ya, a matter of taste, but the item icons simple look like placeholders and dont fit into the whole theme of the game. - maps not big enuff. I want to feel lost in a world. They need to be 50x bigger to finally give words like "massive" a meaning.
There is more minor stuff that adds up like im not into investigations that mutch with ingame browser on fake websites and so on. Also, i couldnt find the right company yet. People started soon after Polaris to ask for minimum stats. Due to missing friends i lost the chain after Inferno. You see, a lot of that comes down to my own backyard so you can say, im not logging in because of myself ^^

You are free to make good and bad decks though, and some abilities work well together. Originally posted by TribeofOne Chat works fine and people are nice (well except maybe the leets in Agartha). Plenty of friendly cabals and normal people in General Chat. /ignore the jerks -- they are in every game available, but there are fewer of them in TSW. An ability you think might not be useful in one build can end up being very useful in another build/combo. It's just the pool of abilities you own, so nothing is really "wasted" |

Originally posted by Thillian I agree with Talonsin, combat is just not that great. I personally think is has a lot to do with the stiff and poor animations. I honestly can't pin point what it is about the game I don't like. I like slaying zombies, I like shotguns, I like post apocolyptic settings, but when I get in the game I end up running around for half an hour, 10 of that probably talking to someone, 15 doing a mission, the rest just shooting random things then I am bored...it's probably more of me, I can't seem to play a game for more than an hour tops now |
