So, they always post China subscribers, but never post China expac sales?
As a WoW player, that makes perfect sense to me for some reason.

I see it mostly as a reflection of how poorly other themeparks have done building market share.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's how it work's.When Cata released there were closer to 12 mill sub's and that's why 4.7 mill sales. |

This never gets old. Wait....it does. I wanted to type something really smart as a reply to this subject, but the Scarlet Blade ad got me distracted and I forgot what I wanted to type. |

WOW has 9.6m players, and you are trying to turn that into a negative? I don't play the game, but given that it was released in 2004 that is pretty bloody impressive.

I fail to see why this is news worthy. Old games ARE supposed to lose subscribership overtime, because people are getting tired of playing the same thing and the graphics are getting outdated?

Originally posted by birken No but wow's servers are grouped by time zone, people who live in the same time zone tend to have similar sleep/work patterns. Thats how peak and off peak times work, peak times are the times when most people arent at work/school or asleep. |

Then you can math your way into understanding that no subscriber plays 24/7. Even if every player played like a full time job, 8 hours a day, that would leave 16 hours off-line. Plus some people only play for short times, others only on weekeds, or on a Tuesday...or whatever. So if you are looking at the server status expecting to see 9.6 million people on at the same time, you are going to be dissapointed |
