The more I watch the video the more I think they are showing the 3 factions going after something.. That archway at the end of the video could be a portal.. ( they have mentioned having a Darkness Falls type of dungeon in ESO ) to a daedric realm perhaps..?

I won't bother with it. When TESO was first announced I was very excited at the idea, but then the developers started opening their mouths and all that excitement turned into worries. Sign-ups for Beta were recently announced so I decided I'd at least try to give the game a fair chance before putting it aside (provided that I was accepted) but then the sign-up page caused an error at the end. I've just stop bothering with it. My expectations were already pretty low with TESO, I highly doubt the game will manage to impress me or provide a TES-like experience to begin with, so I'll just sit out and wait for AA or something along those lines. ------ |

God people who get upset about other people hyping is asanine. It's our business if we choose to hype something. Really pisses me off when people act like others are not entitled to their own wants/needs/wishes.
and in before someone says: "People who get upset over people getting upset about others hyping". |

Originally posted by azzamasin Naw, its more we get to put up with the retarded hyping in the first place, then all of the even more retarded crying about how the devs lied to you, and this sucks, blah blah blah. I know its just so hard to be reasonable on the internet, but it would be nice if just a tiny sliver of effort were made. I did battle with ignorance today, and ignorance won. To exercise power costs effort and demands courage. That is why so many fail to assert rights to which they are perfectly entitled - because a right is a kind of power but they are too lazy or too cowardly to exercise it. The virtues which cloak these faults are called patience and forbearance. |

People on here need to learn to differentiate between people who show an interest in a new product and rabid fanboys. Anyone who likes any game that you don't is apparently a fanboy, although I guess that is an easy way to dismiss a point of view you don't like. There is nothing unhealthy with having anticipation for a new release, as long as it is tempered with knowledge and a decent dose of skepticism. But lets not try to turn this place into a cesspool of pessimisim shall we? Just because a new release doesn't suit your own wants or desires, doesn't make it a failure or the end of the world. |

Players come for the game, but they stay for the people- Most Devs have forgotten this. |

People need to ask themselves on simple question before buying into this...
'Would I be as excited if it wasn't for the TES brand?'
Personally, I do not see this as a TES game (despite it's skin), and it all looks so derivative and unambitious when looked at as a stand alone MMORPG, so I will be on the platform waving the hype train off on this one. |

I'm not seeing so much of a "hype train" about TESO. There is a dedicated and legitimate base of interested and "hyped" people and as a vocal and critical (and legitimate) base of people annoyed at the use of an Elder Scroll skill for just another generical and otherwise unimpressive MMO. In the middle a lot of players who are waiting to see the meat under the smoke. We've all been burnt too many times to buy the CG trailers and blindly-positive reviews by the press without a second thought. If anything TESO is the first MMO getting the first real counter-hype and maybe this is a positive evolution both for the industry and players alike. Consumers are getting more mature and demanding and are wary of last years' practices by the SHs. Hope that TESO will be the great game we're getting promised but this time my guard is up. |

Recently I was thinking how this game is following the same scheme of building unsubstantiated hype by releasing fluff updates with no gameplay or any other relevant game features, in the same manner that SWTOR did. And it got me worried. After checking Michael's old SWTOR article, i see that even SWTOR, year and a half before launch, released much more gameplay related info than TESO did so far. Just sayin'. |

Teso had taken a back seat to Neverwinter but welcome back to the front thanks to neverwinter price tactics of pay then pay before you try, then pay to win. Please do not do anything like that teso. Your cinematics are sweet , keep them coming and let's hope the game is great as well.

I have been saying pass on this game so far, but I will give it a chance. I'm going to leave this one up to the community. If the community can convince me to come play a month or two after launch, and the community is still growing at that point, then I will give it a shot. ( Note to self-Don't say anything bad about Drizzt.) An acerbic sense of humor is NOT allowed here. |

Aw, and I was so hyped and all... This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=sv160bre2og Actually convinced me not to pre-order the game. The customization sounds great, but effects look shabby for todays AAA, the only thing that doesn't seem to be anything combat-ish is how npc villagers thank you for doing combat close to their town.
WHY DOES EVERYTHING HAVE TO BE COMBAT? Why can't I just roll a villager making the best damn apple-pies in town? *rage*
Now the cg-trailer does look nice, fun and interesting. The three-way of pvp seem more popular these days, and the is fine and all. The gameplay stuff you find on youtube though isn't all too fancy, though I won't blame them, putting all this together and trying to amuse fans from both TES and mmo communitys might be more than they can pull off. At least it will be going down into the MMO-history books for being brave.
I truly hope however that I will be able to spec in full stealth ninja one-shot-kill or a mage-3shot-sniper :DDD The sylvari ordered Rice n chicken in a bar. The waiter asked him: "exploded or intact?" He angrily answered: "Intact of course! Do you take me for a fool?" Those were his last words. |

I really like TES.. if they can keep the free roam sandbox type feel I'll be happy. I also hope they can keep player housing, I enjoy it in TES games and Fallout 3. I was looking forward to it in GW2 and they kinda dropped the ball on it.

Color me interested in 3-way PvP fighting. I'm also very interested in more sand-box gaming. I will not play another themepark PvE centric MMO ever again.

The things that build my limited interest in TESO are few. Matt Firor's involvement, and the fact that there is an actual attempt to convert some essence of Elder Scrolls into a MMORPG and catapult it into the MMO-sphere has piqued my interest, but I'm wary of plunking cash down for another clone of a formulaic MMO.
I was inducted very late into the SWTOR beta experience, so I missed out on high level content and all of the issues that entailed. I contented myself at the time with NOT reading what other beta players were experiencing, because I wanted MY experience to be fresh and untainted by soured opinions. Sadly, I saw what a mistake that was. I would have known about all of the supposedly "known issues" (AKA bugs and crashes) as they related to raiding and piss-poor customer service.
This time around, there just isn't enough VERIFIED, eye-popping "I really want to get my hands on this game and try that out" content or features being demonstrated for me to bother with a pre-order, much less jump on any "hype-train" with blinders on. |

Originally posted by FistyMayhem No player housing (It's too hard, acc to the devs), faction locked races, and race/faction locked 2/3 of the game world. All of that will be in TESO and was not in any of the ES SPGs. That is why many ES SPG fans are among the biggest critics of what is being done with TESO. |

Originally posted by Burntvet Do the SP TES games have a large majority of Tamriel world there for the players to explore? Nope. Thats why I dont care. And faction locked races is done to keep some balance. Is it perfect? No but its there and its going to keep it more fair for all players. |

I'm still very skeptical about this game. The Elder Scrolls has always been about freedom of player choice above all else. Locking races to factions throws this out the window. I'll try the game and I've signed up for the Beta but my expectations are extremely low for this one. I have absolutely zero hype for TESO right now. The game itself may change my mind however whenever I finally get to actually play it.
