Bioshock Infinite to start with. I've had the highest grade edition preordered since it was announced. If Blizzard drops a Diablo 3 expansion, then I'll be picking that up as well. Waiting to see what cosmetics will be available in TERA, if some are decent I might drop some cash there. The Tomb Raider prequel is also very high up on my list of games to have at some point this year. Gears of War: Judgment will get a look from me at some point, although probably not at launch. Edit: I can't believe I forgot Wasteland 2! I'm definitely going to be upgrading my contribution as my finances allow. I've been dying for a proper Fallout game (FO3 is a piece of shit which deserves to be destroyed) since FO2. Brian Fargo, please save us from horrible hybrid FPSRPGs! Oh, and War for the Overworld. But I paid for that in 2012, so I guess it doesn't count. Wholesome Dungeon Keeper goodness. |

For the time being, a GW2 expansion (if one is released) and probably content for TSW once they bundle them in packs. No other MMO coming this year so far picks my attention, might look again once they're released.

Year is not over yet, so do not know.
I did battle with ignorance today, and ignorance won. To exercise power costs effort and demands courage. That is why so many fail to assert rights to which they are perfectly entitled - because a right is a kind of power but they are too lazy or too cowardly to exercise it. The virtues which cloak these faults are called patience and forbearance. |

At the moment going to continue with TSW, FE and Rift. Will try to get at least one toon to 80 in GW2 (kinda stopped playing it when Rift exp came out). Firefall will get some $$$ from me, didn't play the betas a lot but really liked the look and feel of the game. Will give Defiance a look, tried to get into beta but I wasn't in US/Europe :(. Probably not getting into any new Fantasy MMOs, I'm just over them (was playing WoW for a long time). As far as non-MMO stuff, I don't even know what's coming this year (well besides Crysis 3). Still got heaps of games I picked up @ Steam sales, some like 2 years ago which I didn't touch.

My wife wants a new bedroom set and I want to upgrade to an 8 bay Synology NAS.

I will probably get Neverwinter, I am a Forgotten realms fan and it actually sounds pretty fun, even if I have some issues with Cryptic in the past. But NW seems at least to have good funding for once. Besides that there should be a GW2 expansion, I will get that. And maybe something else as well. |

Skyrim: Dragonborne DLC comes out February 5th. So far, that's it. I don't foresee much more being spent this year. We will see as it progresses. - Al Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. |

Probably nowhere but casual friendly games that are indeed fun, unique, and multiplayer. As of 2013, I have yet to spend any money, and Q4 spent was mostly in vain, although I am glad of SOME of the money I spent in Planetside 2 (although I quit playing, and obviously spent too much), donation to HumbleBundle Dungeon Defender gave a good week of great fun before getting boring, and The Walking Dead (haven't played it yet, but the demo and reviews clearly show it to be a game I will undoubtedly love). My birthday and christmas gifts of XCOM remains unopened (although it is tempting) and Assassins Creed 3 is a total poorly made bugfest of crap which doesn't even work most of the time. That, and I still occassionally play The Last Stand (Warhammer 40k Dawn of War 2) which I bought a looong time ago.
Edit: If Company of Heroes 2 is anything like the original, I will be buying that- probably for me and all of my friends and family. The original is probably one of THE best games I've ever played. Simply amazing, even despite its massive flaws (RELIC programmers and the network tards who provided us with the one of the biggest fails ever made in terms of networking and DRM)
Where is my money going this year? Probably in my bank account. I am growing tired of the uninspired new releases, failed updates of old releases, and the simple fact I am more excited to play old SNES/SEGA ROMS than I am new releases. Of which, I don't play those ROMS either...given Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and other amazing television series are far more entertaining than video games.
Things have changed greatly. I am 27, and still have an enormous amount of freetime like I did the rest of my life. Yet unlike then, I don't game 18 hours a day anymore. I don't even game 8...or 4...or even 1. I have spent most of my time reading into politics, watching The Daily Show, viewing The Young Turks, and insulting redneck conservatives on Facebook. It entertains me a lot more to create my video game and learn new relative skills, than to actually play games. From the look of it, I am still far ahead of my original goal. I gave myself 8 years to create my MMORPG. I've been learning a lot, and at this rate I will probably be done by the 8th, given the fact I am getting a lot closer and still have 5 years left. |

The Repopulation will get the majority of my money this year. Archeage was also going to get some until I found out it is a Korean title. So, I guess I will go with TESO to go along with TR.

A bit of money will go to Mabinogi again. ArcheAge will get some of it as well if it launches this year. Perhaps a return to my old flame, Dofus. I'm still undecided as to whether or not I like Age Of Wushu, so probably a bit of money there if I see it as a potential game to spend a few months in. I'll probably get Skyrim's Dragonborn DLC somewhere this year if I go back to it.
That's about it. There hasn't really been any other games, single-player or MMORPG that have caught my attention this year so far. Definitively looking forward to AA though as it looks like the kind of game I could really spend a while playing (or at least I'm very hopeful). ------ |

Originally posted by Thorkune That's a pretty weird reason to discard a game. I'd understand if someone said "I won't bother with 'x' game because it's made by 'x' studio" but to discard a game purely because it's made in Korea is something I find weird. ------ |

Wow. Someone has their panties in a bunch. Are you upset that some folks do not like the state of MMORPGs lately and have a differing opinion than you? Take a deep breath. Now let it out. Calm down. Personally, I am here hoping some future MMORPG will surprise me. As time goes on, I find that hope dwindling. I am pleased you enjoy the state of MMORPGs now and are having fun :) You are in the majority. - Al Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Originally posted by MadnessRealm I say that because every Korean title that I have ever played has been excessively grindy. Aion was supposed to be the greatest game ever and it ended up having a very bad launch because of the horrible grind. I want a sandbox very bad, so I am putting all of my eggs in the repopulation basket. If Archeage ends up being good after launch, I will give it a shot. But, for now, I have no interest in it. |
