Ok. I am calling bullshit on the Hero of the North pack. I want to see the actual accounting sheets with the amounts tabulated under GAAP to make my own determinations here. I know business accounting, I also know sales and gaming. I realyl don't see how anything in that pack is valued at over half a grand. Show me the accounting numbers so I can see the money!!! |

If it is what I imagine it can be I would shell out the $200, but not blindly tbh

$200 is way too much for what is being offered. If this was a sub based game and that investment covered the sub, or got you a monthly stipend for the life of your account then it would make sense. Everything in the $200 pack will be available within the first year in the store anyways. |

Wow, F2P games are getting pricey these days. I'm hyped for this game and would gladly support it with 60€ as B2P model, but these packs are pretty confusing. So what exactly here is worth 60$ or 200$? Extra companion, a mount and another race? Seriously? |

I always love the "valued at" parts of these marketing lines. How's a pack of noob items, some inventory space and an amulet worth more than most single-player games or GW2? Will inventory bags cost 20$ in the cash shop? The Foundry sounds good, but I find every other aspect of this game unappealing, including this offer. |

After shelling out money for founders on hellgate london, champions online, and the secret world... I've learned to bite my tongue and just wait. It's too risky investing in a game you've never played, although the mount and companion looks nice :-/

I am going to wait until it comes out, or until I get access to the beta to see if I am going to spend any money at all. The foundry is probably either going to make or break this game for me.

I would gladly pay $549.....if they allowed me to port over my Vulcan Vice Admiral and BOFF crew. That would be pretty neat.

Hmm, 200 bones is too rich for my blood, but I might consider the other packs. The $20 pack I will almost certainly fork out for, the $60 pack is a maybe. If the stuff, especially the mounts are account wide then that would make it more appealing. If the mount is as good and fast as higher tier mounts then that would matter as well. Is the pet cosmetic or useful, that is a factor. How much inventory space do we start with and how nice is a 12 slot bag of holding? What are the six items and how useful are they to me as I level? The 'regalia headpiece' doesn't sound that attractive to me. I want store items that are going to be useful. That isn't just true here, but anywhere. If I layout $60 in game cash to any game I want the stuff I buy to be worth it. I don't want to buy items that are only good until level 10.k That's just sort of how I feel about it. |

I love how all these new games quickly put out these lifetime subs. It's such a obvious marketing ploy to try to hook people for a large sum of money when they barely know the game and may or may not get bored of the game or dislike it in a month.

The new marketing scam..................$200.00 for a pack with a made up value of $549.00. Do companies actually believe the product they put out is worth $549.00?
Think of what $549.00 can buy you and your getting a game? Sad as this is on my watch list.
I'm taking a shot of vodka every time I see a reference to a game being a WoW or Diablo clone. |

Originally posted by MikeB Hey anyone that wants to buy it...more power to them. I wouldn't call it a "knee jerk" reaction though. A lot of people are speaking from experience on the wisdom of purchasing these really expensive sets for something that they have not even played. At least the expensive TOR box came with, well a neat box and a statue and stuff. Two of the features are for beta test perks, which is ridiculous. My issue is not the price, but the lack of value. $200 for beta test perkes, and a race and mount that will show up as a cash shop purchase in some variation seems foolish. Don't believe me? Check out STO's shop. The fact that this is all pre launch and pre beta hype is also ridiculous. People wonder why the MMO market has gone stale. Maybe this cycle of crazy hype coupled with expensive editions that a false sense of urgency is created to get people to buy them has something to do with the sagging subscription numbers, massive company layoffs and 3 month after launch server merges that follow? Nah that can't be it. $200 edition is the bee's knees folks! ONLY chance EVER to be a DROW! Beta weekends are AWESOME!!! |
