Originally posted by coretex666 There is a shortage of housing areas on the East and West continents sure. Even there some housing areas were never found/developed as they aren't always on the main roads, and carrying the required building materials made them less conveinient.. Once your Expeditionary Force (Clan/Guild) gets a land claim on the Northern continent Houses, Castles and Farms can all be placed within a certain radius of the claim. Lose the claim in a siege and attackers can ransack the housing there.
As to the housing, there is a 'family' system where upto, iirc, 7 characters can share a house/farm. So, make friends, buy into a time share, and all is golden.. heh heh |

So are the first two continents really small and "restrictive" in the way described by the OP? I'd like to hear more opinions of those who tried the OBT.

Originally posted by darkhalf357x Excuse me, but have you been living under a rock for the last two years? AA has had a serious hype train going for it ever since it began to garner interest in the west. Plenty of people have very high expectations for it and it has been covered in depth by several gaming sites, always from a very positive angle and highlighting its innovative aspects. It has been called a sandbox more times than I can remember and if I had had a cent every time someone said "I'm waiting for AA" I'd be a rich man by now. I can't see how critical posts like mine, expressing concern about actual beta testers' statements about quest hubs and linear "grind to endgame" design - which is not what I expected from AA at all - fan any hype. If anything they counter it. Many gamers are so fed up with the WoW formula and desperate for something new that they'll buy into anything that claims to be next gen and open-ended. I'm just concerned that AA will get a lot of hate when people realize it's not as innovative as many had hoped. It seems to be a good game in its own right and I'll play it for sure, but I can't see how anything good can come from people having unrealistic expecations.

The only thing I regret about this review of yours is that other people may look upon it and actually heed your advice, listen to your words, or buy into this projection of utter garbage and false information. I am glad that intelligent people will gather several opinions of this game, many reviews, well written and supported with proper facts. Happy because those people will see this review for what it really is.
There is another upside to this drivel. Those simpletons who buy into this review will not be in Archeage when it comes out in the west. What you have done is cement there opinions and sent them on their merry way to whatever themepark takes their fancy.
Lastly, and what makes me the most happy, is that I will never have to bump into you in game, but unfortunately the downside is I will never have the extreme pleasure of corpse camping you into oblivion.
Anyone reading this, please use a better source to formulate your own opinion on this game. There is a very good thread on the main page of this forum section right now that I urge you to check out.

Now the very reason I can say these things is because I have been in the CBT5 closed beta. I have experienced all parts of the game, and can tell you that the information given is false, and much more in line with what Vunak has posted.

Thanks for the review. I really hope housing is limited. Im tired of everyone getting everything in games. Maybe there should be just a few people with housing. Maybe just a few people with the best the game has to offer. I hate the days we live in when everyone gets everything.

Age of Wushu, the beta is more of a complete game than the last 4 AAA releases.
edit - again I'm sure I'll try the game, I'm a gamer, but the info that's been coming out this beta is very concerning. Who know they could be lies or exaggerations. DamonVile- Games built for disposable players are now apparently built by disposable employees. |

Originally posted by bcbully you do have more freedom when it comes to leveling. there is; exploration, crafting, mining, farming and more... archeages freedom applies to many things in the game. the ability to create your own unique class, traveling in the world of archeage(land or sea) without loading screens that would break your immersion, tons of features that surpass the typical options a themepark offers with the usual instances or battlegrounds and of course there is more... you see, archeage does offer freedom, like "Biskop" mentioned. also, most of archeages features are accessible at low level, there is no need to be max for them. |

Originally posted by Vunak23 Lol, seriousily you just simply say false this faulse that but you didnt notice that you couldnt state a proper reason to prove your words.... and it looks like you didnt read what I was writing. For example.. what does the first "false" in your reply even mean? I said you can only build in restricted area and its true, and I also said by the time i wrote that there is no place for another house, since you didnt know which server i play at how did you know its false? FYI, one can rush to level 50 which is the level cap right now in less than 3 days, and since you can't build castle or claim zones yet in this game, let alone siege, there is not much you can do after capped, I didnt rush my level but there are several 50 players in my guild, and what they do mustly now( Yes i payed for 1 month, so save it if you think I am a hater) is roaming around in a grp trying to find opposite faction players to kill, maybe you should tell them what to do since you seem to be the few really know the right way to play this game. By the way, you cant pvp in low level zones, you can go to the low level zone in another faction's continents ofcourse, but you cant attack them there, all you can do is let them attack you first and get killed or, if for some reason they are that dumb which is almost not possible... get attacked first by normaly several players then kill them all like a raid boss. If you want to tell everyone how amazing Archage is, just do it. If there is really anything wrong in my post, just point it out, but stop puking the word false randomly without providing any evidence but your own opinion. |

Originally posted by vzerov actually, yes you can. it's already possible to claim zones, in fact, the russian guild "rise" on server 9 was one of the first. a list of all servers with their claimed zones. http://www.inven.co.kr/board/powerbbs.php?come_idx=2626&l=390
hard to believe with the options archeage offers. check out this thread(1st page) and the link to the article. http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/572/view/forums/thread/374673/ArcheAge-What-To-Expect-At-Release.html |

Quick question: What do you mean by "you can't pvp in lowlevel zones"? Does that mean pvp is disabled in lowlevel zones? I thought there was going to be pvp everywhere except in villages and camps and that they had penalties for killing lowlevel players? Isn't it similar to Lineage II? |
