Originally posted by Yizle He went through paypal for the refund, the refund from the seller is usually taken back instantly. The problem comes from Paypals slow process in releasing those funds to you. If AV banned his account then paypal has the money from AV already. It can take weeks for paypal to actually give it to the OP though.

Originally posted by bunnyhopper oh, I think I misunderstood the op then... I tought he got a ban but still won't get a refund... In that case, everything I told would stand... But this way, it doesn't... I agree with you, if you asked for a chargeback then you should get a ban right that instant since you clearly don't like the product and you're taking your money back. Did you get access to their content?
If so, then they have a point.....still they might be shielded anyway if you accepted their EULA. |

1. Buy the Pre-order. 2. Play as much as you want. 3. Cancel the pre-order. 4. Get your money back.
There is a reason that gaming companies are trying to close this hole. AV is not alone in using this method. The easier #4 is the more abusable the whole system is.

Everyone can agree that the Mercs exploited quite alot and AV didn't do much to stop it. But almost every person in the game cheated in their own way. I was pissed that nothing was done but to hold a grudge this long is unbelievable
Back to the actual topic, if i had a nickel for everytime i bought a game and wasn't impressed. I would be a wealthy fellow. But I never demanded my money back.. it's only 15$... |

I got banned for flaming in this topic. I want a refund for my internet data wasted! False advertisement, my ISP never told me I can lose access to any websites. I am about to call my bank and demand they stop payment, and claim fraud occurred.
Dear phantomghost,
Ridiculous! Almost as ridiculous as the original poster. |

Little update my ISP perma banned me from having an account with them. This is ridiculous, you call up your bank to get a refund for false advertisement of service, and cancel the last payment and they shut my damn internet off. What the hell? I want this to be on the front page, this is fraud in my book. I can't believe I got to text type this on my phone.

Originally posted by birdycephon No, you need to defend me on this forums. I am right. My ISP is wrong. I did ask them to unban me from the website and they did not. I demanded a refund they said no. I took the only appropriate action... called my bank in a matter of about 10seconds from posting this. Then in that 10 seconds they cut off my service and I typed all this up on my phone.
RIOT!
Btw... its 100% not serious.. just proving how stupid this OP rant is. |

Aventurine with Darkfall Unholy Wars is one of very few times in recent years I can recall a PRE ORDER cancellation not getting the funds back to the person who pre-ordered. I mean who does that? Aventurine.
If he had bought the game I could understand. This is a pre-order though, and cancelling the order before release or shipment of goods for a full refund should be a no-brainer. Obviously though, Aventurine is just that.
Of course Aventurine doesn't have to give pre-order cancellation fund returns, they can do whatever they want. Which is probably why they are losing most of their customers... El Psy Congroo |

Big difference between a pre-order and a pre-order that lets you play the game until it is officially released. |

Originally posted by Ryroth This was the only siege where developers interfered and manually transfered a town against their own written siege rules. Mercs was in a league of their own and Aventurine didnt care jackshit about the clans that had to deal with these cheaters. Says alot about the mentality of Aventurine. |

Originally posted by phantomghost Other games and MMOs offer the same. Heck, some let you play the game in the early access and a few days into release before having to enter a retail code. I'm just saying that there shouldn't be a problem with changing your mind on a pre-order and getting your money back. Guild Wars 2 actually did this much better with its two options. You could purchase the game early and not be able to cancel for a refund, and get more benifits - pre-purchase. You could alternatively pre-order, and still get game time before release, but if you change your mind you could get the full deposit back.
Not only do other game developers do it right, but also other businesses such as Amazon, Gamestop, Best Buy, I mean the list goes on and on of companies and developer studios that let you cancel a pre-order and get your money back before release. Aventurine desperately needs customers, but does everything wrong to piss them off they can. Regardless of the quality of the game, it's piss poor business practice. El Psy Congroo |

Originally posted by Dovregubben Aside from having to make a new account to do so, no. That's the thing, it would be easier on everyone, Aventurine included, to just revoke his product key or whatever else they use to detmine account access, than outright ban his account. All it does is clutter up their records. Of course, it's very possibly that they have a crappy account database, where product keys and accounts are somehow permanently tied together. They certainly don't make the highest quality games, so I wouldn't be suprised to find out they have crappy database designs as well. |

Originally posted by korent1991 Which is why it's much better for companies to resolve the issue without having to deal with a chargeback, lol. The spend less on the refund, and are more likely to get future business. Like I said earlier, this is how smaller and less experienced companies tend to handle things; with emotion and ego, rather than good business rational. They basically want to sell a product and offer no channel for a refund, and get upset when they have chargebacks, lol. |
