They Say it's geared for services like onLive where the game is 100% streamed from the net and the player's application is just a viewer into the game while the game is run on the cloud... We aren't comfortable in taking that risk so we decided to change and I had been advocating Hero since I joined the team so we took a look at it, asked our Community what they thought and at the time we officially switched the vast majority agreed with the switch. After that time though things got interesting and more people started speaking out against it but the majority are still in favour of the change.

As for the second KickStarter campaign internally we haven't discussed it much and haven't discussed it at all since the switch to Hero. Right now we are more focused on getting established with Hero and getting to a point that we can have the Alpha test hopefully still before April. Things are progressing and all of you can be assured we will continue to do what's best for the future success of Greed Monger.

Yeah I guess I retract my statement but not completely about it being a scam, the creator as you know isnt experienced. If it was up to me, youd be doing the second kickstarter and youd be co owners.

I again retract my statement on the scamming sine most of my evidence was missing money (except for his obvious bad PR reputation) but now I know that 75,000 grand is going to Heroengine it makes much more sense.

While jason may be the one putting it together, someone that understands what the hell they are doing should be the one doing the interviews/PR.

I understand the migration to heroengine but I do not gain the benefits of heroengine as I am one person and the biggest thing about hero is the ability to work together in real time. Heroengine is fantastic for a team though I just hope they up there renderer. its directx11 but still looks like EQ 1 in some ways.. I havent seen it in six months though since saphire.

Good luck I probably wont post again, so sorry jason I will probably be ignoring your huge post with bullshit spewed in it.

I have a couple of questions for you Sir.

1. Will you be now adding a subscription to the game.

2. Will you have an Auction House? From reading the Kick Starter page I got the impression there would not be one.

3. Will you be adding a Cash Shop?

4. Will we be seeing new planets in the future? I got the impression we would. (Space Ships)?

5. Will there be land available to players that have not been a part of the early fund raising at release?

6. Do you plan to support other RMT besides the selling/purchasing of land or do you plan to police RMTs?

7. Are you making  an online casino disguised as a game ?

Thanks in advance.

Other than ShortyBible this all got out of hand.

Interesting how JA's response to criticism and technical discussion is "That guy looks like a little kid banging on the keyboard and screaming" and his response to clear evidence of his lying is "You have some agenda and are misinterpreting me".

I'll be popping in once every few weeks to see some developments. All this is ridiculously silly (except Shorty and the technical talk).

echoing these questions as I am interested as well.

Yes, games that I play to pass the time should be time-consuming. That's why I play them.

Ok these are all very valid questions. Some of them can be answered some can't for different reasons.

1. At this time we don't know. We will be discussing it and are hoping to work something out with the Developers of Hero once we are further along in development. We really want to stick to our stated design goals though if at all possible.

2. There will be no Auction house in game like you find in WoW and other Games.

3. This is being discussed so we aren't ruling it out but nothing is final yet. Again we really want to keep to our original goals as much as possible.

4. Can't say anything concerning this. You will just have to play the game and uncover the story like everyone else!

5. We will be launching with the said 6,000 parcels of player owned land. Out of which 3,000 is already accounted for. Information on how we will be releasing the other 3,000 will be released in the future.

6. This is really unknown at this time. Most options for generating revenue in order to comply with Hero's terms are being left on the table. Will it include RMT that's still to be decided (Personally hopefully not).

7. NO we are not creating a Casino disguised as a Online game. Personally I feel Casinos do much more negative then good!

you're starting to lose me here, James.

a F2P without a cash shop was the breakthrough for me...

I'll keep watching but this QnA doesn't go the way I was hoping it would.

Thank you for the kind comments.

I am just a gamer that read the game concepts and became interested. As stated in my earlier posts I have no agenda.

It is a plus here for us that the CEO/Developer has an mmorpg account and actually uses it.

It is unfortunate that he is using it to flame/troll.

I doubt that the questions I posed will ever get answered due to the fact that he might have violated mmorpg rules of conduct.

I have no idea if he did.

If this game is ever made and becomes a true sandbox with , no cash shop, no auction house, no worldwide chat etc:, but with a lot of tools to enhance the game, then It would be my permanent home for a long time.

Good Luck

I don't think Jason broke any rules. In any case I have answered your questions to the best of our ability at this point in time.

ShortyBible,

James has pretty much covered everything as it stands currently.

There are a couple of people who made attempts at joining the team and didnt work out and are now on some wierd agenda to paint me in the light of some kind of scammer. They post the same thread with a different post date and their "facts" are really never anything other than their twisted words or complete fabrications or insults and I just don't entertain them any longer.

Legit questions not spun with a sense of sarcasm, attitude or agenda I'm glad to answer.

Ok these are all very valid questions. Some of them can be answered some can't for different reasons.

1. At this time we don't know. We will be discussing it and are hoping to work something out with the Developers of Hero once we are further along in development. We really want to stick to our stated design goals though if at all possible.

Understood, but this leaves a lot of open doors to change the game drastically from the stated concept that was advertised on the Kick Starter pages.

2. There will be no Auction house in game like you find in WoW and other Games.

Your response to this question seems to leave the door open to some type of hybrid in the future. Can you close the door?

3. This is being discussed so we aren't ruling it out but nothing is final yet. Again we really want to keep to our original goals as much as possible.

If you could restate your original goals here for us at mmorpg I would appreciate it. Websites change so often. This would give us something to refer to in our future discussions pertaining to this game.

My opinion is that a game that proclaims to be  "A crafting focused sandbox mmorpg"  would have little to no room for a Cash Shop.

4. Can't say anything concerning this. You will just have to play the game and uncover the story like everyone else!

You were able to hint at it in the Kick Starter .   Pipe dreams?

5. We will be launching with the said 6,000 parcels of player owned land. Out of which 3,000 is already accounted for. Information on how we will be releasing the other 3,000 will be released in the future.

Vauge response, but I guess we will be following the updates and see what you guys actually do.  I am guessing that realeasing a game that is sold out of land spaces prior to the game  actually being released is not in your best interest to attract  customers in the future.

6. This is really unknown at this time. Most options for generating revenue in order to comply with Hero's terms are being left on the table. Will it include RMT that's still to be decided (Personally hopefully not).

My thoughts on this  is that if it means that you need to deviate from the original vision to comply with their terms then you are in the same position as if you had dealt with a publisher  such as EA. Why use Kick Starter if this is what you were trying to avoid?

7. NO we are not creating a Casino disguised as a Online game. Personally I feel Casinos do much more negative then good!

Some discussions I read prompted me to ask this question.

I thank you for taking the time  to respond to my questions. Best of luck to you and your team in the future.

I look forward to observing the development path and the finiancial module you ultimately choose, and be able to discuss them.   I don't envy you for your job:)

Good Luck.

Get used to it. There will be haters and fanbois.  (supporters/nonsupporters)  I am neither. I stumbled on your game here on mmorpg and  it caught my interest. I have read the good, the bad and the ugly. Don't let them bait you into irrational responses.

Seeing that you actually use these forums, I suggest that you use it  your advantage.

Keep us informed of the development of the game, don't advertise, don't troll, don't flame.

Edit to include.

One of the biggiest mistakes that I have seen in the past is that developers tend to listen to the backers, forum members that yell the loudest. The released game is no longer their vision, but a complete abstract. Try to stay true to your vision.

Try to release the product you promised.

The internet is an unforgiving medium. You disappoint the backers/supporters of the original vision,  (stray) and some of them will follow you to the ends of the internet for years.

Their issue with you might be ligimate because you might not be able to deliver what you promised.

Try to under promise and over deliver.

Just because hes the leading his crew and doing updates on his own game doesn't mean he doesn't care. He asks our opinion on ever thing that is up for debate. I am not sure if you are insisting that he needs to be here more often. If you are, I really could care less because i'd rather not have GM hyped up the extreme as SWTOR. We the people in GM are looking for a small tight community that sufficently runs on that type of group. The avg amount of players of 150k would be just great.

I usually don't respond to posts like these , but some reading comprehension would really help you to contribute to this discussion. Your response is so off topic.

These are precisely the type of responses your game don't need.

A 2 year old account with 7 posts going off topic.

@mod. I am not trying to discourage the above poster from contributing. Just reflecting on his timeliness. Please moderate as you see fit. please don't suspend. Thanks.

Good luck

We aren't going to turn into some Elitest community! Everyone is welcome to join GM. We would really love to see just how big GM can become. When Jason and I first started our KickStarter Campaign we were expecting at most 1,500 of our parcels to be sold. We more then doubled that. GM really has the potential to be something big! It's just up to us Developers to make the best choices for it's future success in order to see just how big it really can become.

I'd really be happy with just 10,000 players where we are starting out as a completely unknown, unproven indie team but if it had 100,000 or 200,000 or more active accounts I would be beyond excited! I'm just happy to be living my dream!

I am as exicited as you are.

Now if you would take the time out to respond to my replies "in red" in our above discussion that would be appreciated.

It is not often that I get an opportunity to discuss a game in development with the developers, so I am going for broke :)

lol I haven't answered much of your further questions because I just can't at this time. This switch to HeroEngine is new to us just as much as it's new to the community and we are still figuring out how we are going to proceed. Our main focus right now is on trying to make sure we can still have our Alpha as close to April as possible. Once we have a playable game we will discuss things with the Developers of Hero and see if something can be worked out between them and us and then once we have some solid information we can discuss we will then let the community know and open dialog with them concerning our future plans.

When we started out with our first KickStarter Campaign our intended goals then were to have a Free2Play Sandbox MMO that was supported by Parcel Sales and a percentage of the final Auction sale price from players selling their land. No in game Auction system for items, weapons, armor, and the like. No Cash shop. AND above all no Pay2Win features (Though some say the parcel system is Pay2Win though you can still play with out the need for Land). Even with our Switch to Hero those remain our target goals. Can they be accomplished I just simply don't know right now.

As for other Planets yes we mentioned that that was a possibility but that is really all I am currently at liberty to say. Jason being our PR guy makes all of our official announcements concerning new features and things. I can just share what has already been announced or being the Lead Programmer I would be the go 2 person for technical Questions.

LOL Much Luv JamesP.  Thank you for restating your intended goals. As stated earlier websites tend to change and we here on mmorpg need links to prove our arguments in future discussions.

I really appreciate your honesty and I am sure our members here at mmorpg do as well.

I promise to conclude our question and answer session  for now .

Stay true to the vision, if you developers become slaves to an engine developer, or a publisher,  or your forum warriors then your game will stray significantly  from the original vision as advertised.

Looking forward to when you can answer my questions.

Good luck in development..

Can't say I didn't see this one coming LOL.

Just watch the interview with Markee Dragon. That'll pretty much sum up the "experience" this lead developer really has.

Kickstarter, while a great concept, shouldn't be abused like this. A second round for more money? Really?

Thank you for your input. I have watched the interview . ( Stated that a few pages forward.)  I have read the WURM thread, every single post. I have read their forum topics. (The topics that concerns my interest.)  I have watched all their videos available to me.  My interest is neutral.  (I don't hate/luv these guys.)

My intrerst is in the game.!!!!!

"Kickstarter, while a great concept, shouldn't be abused like this. A second round for more money? Really?"

Statements like these while passionate contributes nothing to the discussion.

Tell us why Kick starter is a great concept..

Tell us how Kick Starter is being abused.

Tell us why we should support/not support any future fund raising.:)

EDIT.

LOL no response necessary. I apologize. After reading my last post it seemed  as an assignment

But if you respond to my assignment  I am sure to be delighted.
