no matter what you spend on your pc, that shouldnt happen...Immight start by testing the ram, you can use any of the 5 free programs on this page to do so.

if the memory passes....not sure how much we can help you remotely, you may have to take it in to the shop. |

Windows 8 doesn't just freeze. LoL Sounds like you've bottle necked your hardware somewhere. Make sure all the connections are tight, test your RAM, make sure you got enough power hitting all your components, check the clock switches. a yo ho ho |

Originally posted by EvilMix it's probably overheating. Download CoreTemp and see if it gets to like 80c or so. If that's the problem you need more or larger fans or your airflow is constricted. fwiw, I've never seen ram cause freezing. I've seen it make the PC blue screen and reboot.

Been using Windows 8 since it came out, and have had some freezes. However, they are far and few between. If it is happening often, I would look for a different culprit. If it is the occasional freeze, then it could very well be 8.

The doctors say his chances are 50/50...but there's only a 10% chance of that. |

Is there a cooling device on your CPU such as a fan + heatsink? Is that fan rotating? Try starting up with only one memory module, try each one at a time. El Psy Congroo |

Originally posted by EvilMix A common reason for Windows to freeze up or reboot automatically during startup process is because one or more important Windows files are damaged or missing. Repairing Windows replaces these important files without removing or changing anything else on your computer.
