Just want to tell you that since at least three days ArcheAge managed to keep the same level as Aion in Korea in terms of playeactivity now. Making it the 3rd most played MMORPG in Korea. Only NCSoft MMOs ever could keep that up for more than a week or sometimes even just hours in these top rankings. Yes its free open beta but the steady interest is important to note. If anything I'd rather see it not being published and thus supported by NCSoft overseas as XlGames simply appear to be a highly potential competition in their home market already. On the other hand if Archage keeps it up they could turn in most of their investment within half a year and I see chances opening up for XLGames publishing AA on their own in the West, like NCSoft does or BlueHole tried. 'Seamless world' - A world lacking visible or phys. seams, forming forced breaking points during transition and movement;

I hope not. Anyone who actually likes NCSoft has never suffered through having a game published by them taken away. They're pretty dodgey too and are always getting kicked out of game coventions for being a-holes or whatever.

Originally posted by Onomas I hope people dont get hyped thinking Smed means a traditional sandbox MMO. For my money the only aspect of EQN that will be sandboxish is the open world. If people think its gonna be a pvp game or something they're in for a huge let down im sure it will have pvp but it is going to be a PVE game with PVP not a PVP game with PVE. With that said going PVP with that game engine is gonna be epic hundreds of people with 0 lag. |

NCwest doesn't exist anymore from what I remember, it's all just NCsoft, regardless of region now and ever since that they've been pretty well off. They were silly to try and label the western branch of the company independently from the main HQ. I still believe that unless XLgames publishes the game here themselves, NCsoft is the best choice. I think En Masse would be a horrible idea, and SOE is a pretty good candidate but I don't see that happening..Definitely hoping Nexon wasn't who they've chosen, I don't have anything against them, but they don't have the pull that NCsoft does right now. With GW2 being such a massive success, AA would be a great alternative.

Originally posted by William12 Nothing wrong with a themepark having a large open world or pvp in the open world (level restricted, flagged for it, etc to provide safety for the ones that dont wish to fight). A happy medium between the two should be tempted. Sick and tired of one or the other, hell slap them together and make a good freaking game. But yeah do believe it will be a sandbox, they have been wanting one sicne SWG times, and actualy are working on 2 others. |

Hopefully hes correct. Im not exactly sure why Im choosing to believe him, but I am. /shrug
It sounds feasible, the launch date at the end of the year for NA. If it does, im taking a month or two off of work. Going to concoct a massive story about a family death and fight for the estate of the 'dead' family member.
It worked once before at another company I worked for during the launch of craptastic SWTOR... :) |

Well since Jake Song has a strong NCSoft connection, it's very plausible that it could be.
If in 1982 we played with the current mentality, we would have burned down all the pac man games since the red ghost was clearly OP. Instead we just got better at the game. |

Seeing that they allready announced a russian publisher, it only shows the sad state of MMOs in the western countries. |

As long as it never goes to Bioware/EA or SOE I can sleep well at night.
