As I said before DN does the system, better, faster, smoother, and with better animations.

However that doesn't matter just like with SWTOR the enmasse viral marketers, and psychotic fanbois are gonna scream rant and rave how I am wrong and TERA is so awesome and has 2 million players and is the best game ever yada yada same old BS as always.

Failed to read any of the thread and just decided to throw in more of your trolls, you're typing as if everyone in here is thinking the same thing as you, but we're not.

It's funny, you're one of only two people in here bashing TERAs combat,  while we're having an actual discussion.

We also didn't say they invented it, but it's the only AAA MMORPG with this type of combat, so it is new and innovative for the type of game it was implemented for.

He's a GW2 fan - There's no discussion with him, just rampant trolling of anything not GW2 :)

I still wonder if only 8 of the 380 players in his/her/it's guild sign in per day. Must have just been some kind of hackers and botters that were banned, considering guilds can only hold 300 players lol.

My point is TERA is not a AAA game any more than Raiderz or maybe Linage, only reason some of you consider it a AAA game is becauwse they are presenting it as one.

The point I am trying to drive home is , is that TERA is just one more of a long line of Korean grindage F2P games that Korean's rejected so they thought to themselves what do we do now? Oh I know we package it in a pretty box and sell it to the Americans because they are stupid enough to buy anything we tell them.

Yes and I going by your logic of what I say goes and defines what a game is and what's better means I can state as fact that "TERA is a AAA MMORPG and is the best game on the planet while games like Lineage and RaiderZ are awful, f2p Korean grinders. Only reason you don't like TERA is because you are stupid and terrible at games, it's too complicated for you and your 380 person guild."

See the flaw in your logic, it's not fact, it's your opinion.

I have watched a number of video for Tera combat and while the two system are not exactly the same they share alot of things.  I don't really see how TERA is significantly better and many combats tactics wind up being very similar in the way they are executed.

This isn't a knock against TERA as I think DN has some of the best combat in the MMO space.  But I am not seeing how TERA is somehow the best that has ever been made.  Or even that different from games that have existed for years.

To be sure TERA is much less instanced based than DN, but that is a separate issue.

I wouldn't say combat is significantly better, just different.

Risk vs Reward is more prevalent in Tera. As such the classes have to work a bit harder to succeed. Pace is slower and more thought on actions is required  than DN imo.

Purely from the visceral feel of combat , I would give DN the nod.

From the standpoint of how engrossing the combat is I would give TERA 1st place.

Both have great combat, I would call DN's more fluid and  TERA's more challenging.

Sorry you watched videos on youtube and you think you know how the game plays? I played Dragon Nest,Vindictous and C9 and none of them compare to TERAs combat.

Are you saying TERA is more action based than Vindictus or C9?

I've played Vindictus for a while and seen some C9 footage...also playing tera as a slayer and warrior atm (52 and 46 respectively)

I'd really like to hear why you think TERA is more action based...

We’ll stop to sleep when the game is the best possible game we think it can be. We’ve seen the population of the game steadily rising lately and we’re not going to sit on our butts and congratulate one another, we’re going to try and build on that momentum and make the game even better. -Colin johanson on GW2

DN's combat is fun but in the most part is just on CD skill spamming.TERA's combat is far more dynamic and tactical.DN is not even a "true" mmorpg.

Dn's combat is better. It's actually a 3D Diablo game with a few more moves. C9 is the same with more combo's yet. To me this is along the lines of what Diablo should have been. To me that game needs to advance, it's stuck in old-school mode, which of course is fine at $20, not $60, what a racket. Raiderz is promising something like DN's with Tera Openess.

I've played all games mentioned but Raiderz.

To inform you raiderz is not much different from teras combat except every class can dodge and block (depending on weapon). The game is extremely easy or extremly hard. Basically you run around 1 shotting the entire game then all of a sudden heres a boss quest and you need literally 20 people your level which you will never be able to complete except at the games launch. Block is completely broken. The game was littered with hacks and exploits in alpha. It is ran by the worst company ever who during a 36 hour server shut down did not even post 1 thing about the issue on the forums or even aknowledge they knew NO ONE could play. Raiderz is a wannabe Tera with much smaller maps. The only thing Raiderz did better was questing. But every game has better quests then Tera and i can admit that even as a tera fanboi.

Raiderz is fun. It is a backstep from Tera though. A mere poser. It will never get the time and attention it needs as PWI is quite a bad company in my mind.

I played RaiderZ alpha well its too unpolished for now. So chucky and unresponsive it hurts to play it after playing Tera. And ya block is useless, you take dmg anyways so might as well dodge -.- And the Tell on monsters are retardl, you don't read tell you predict them. Basically by the time you see the tell its too late to dodge/block -.- you just hae to know the monster pattern and predict when the next hit will be and count seconds to dodge them....

Also ya its run by perfect world..... the company know for its P2W cashshop... good direction for F2P but bad company choice -.-

First of all tera combat system is one of the easyest that i ve ever see.....

U cannot move if u wanna hit (is this actions?) every time u hit your char stop into the place.

In dragon nest u have to avoid atk and skill with other skill  and atk while u are moving jumping and RUNNING

in tera u cannot run and hit so if u wanna turn around your target in tera u have to use skill for to be fast so (press a bottom) if u don t do this your turn arond is sloooooooowwwwwww

where is the action?

action combat in mmo is still in dev tracker. There r still game made with TAB targetting system.

But been TERAcombat and comparering to DN. DN still got some ballancing to do. A part from that its no diffrent.

What is this "better" you speak of?  Just play what you enjoy.  Honestly I'm thinking about trying DN again since it didn't seem to want to run on my old pc.

no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled

For me Dn wins when it comes to combat alone, Tera aint bad and the combat works well for that game. Stil i prefer the way dn did it.

If you judge dn on early game its just as bad as tera when it comes to spam all you have all the time. Its later in both games smart skill usage counts.

This was like a 8 month necro...

Jeez, am I the only one who noticed?

Also you can't compare the two, they are somewhat similar but are different styles of action combat, you like what you like end of story.

I liked how TERA's combat system seemed a little less stand-by-ish compared to a lot of MMOs. It was a step up from Champion's Online, a lil' more polished than DCUO's in my opinion. I never played Dragon's Nest so I can't really compare it to say it's superior.

But it has a nice action game feel to it.

I just didn't stick with it because progression is a snore.

I didn't notice... I guess I expect people to bring up old arguments and questions in new threads on this site, so I forgot to check the date.
