Me again! This time with a new kind of topic. These are some important things, so do mind your answers. I am currently at one month of playing and I still don't have what you would call "main" character. But later about that. I have more pressing concerns. In human starting zones(Queensdale+Kessex Hills) I can't find anything to keep up the pace. Compared to Wayfarer Foothills it is slow as a snail and it even has tracts of terrain where there is NOTHING-well maybe some creep or like that. Again, Wayfarer guide you from one place to the other in a "groundpounding" rhytm-that's what I like. Then again I like humans but the zones are so drab. Are they really so badly designed(haven't tried Charr or Asura starting zones, Caledon Forest is ok)? In general in PvE I tend to just get stuck and keep doing nothing. I feel like cutting of quests is a bad decision(they should've just thinned them). Hearts are ok, but they should work with quests and not without them. DEs->I don't really like them. They just keep repeating over and over and over again. Nay, they are really bad replacement for quests->they provide just bare context instead of ample descriptions of quests. I LOVE to read and to imagine, I do not like this experience yourself cr@p. Must be personality issue. What follows when I get stuck is I must basically grind crafting or go do Hearts that are above me(PvP does not interest me in mmos). I should be doing content of my level and not above or below my level. Nay, I feel that ANet has LOOOONG way to go concerning PvE. Is really drab. Lack of grouping(I don't consider those DE gimmicks grouping) also bothers me very much. I feel like just another DPS, no matter what I spec into. That the skills are balanced around sPvP doesn't help either(use of PvE/PvP skill split would be justified here->I don't want to have skills that inflict 3s of daze with no dmg on a 30+s recharge->that's just stupid). Concerning classes: I like mobility, fortitude, condition damage and depth of combat. Versatility is good to have as well. Melee and come and hit me! is a big no no. I don't care if the class is currently UP or OP(well I don't want OP, UP is ok). Are my Norns good match(Ranger, Engineer and Elementalist)? I'd like you to concentrate on the first issue the most. Because I can't find this PvE enjoyable. Without that I can't play MMORPG. Second part is optional since I have my norns so I am ok. I'd like to hear your thoughts there as well. Overall I like this game, but some segments are really drab and even subpar to the standard MMO tropes. Thank You! |

If I am understanding this correctly.. why not just move your human character to level in the norn areas? I think the only downside is that you have to travel back to human areas if you want to do the story stuff. But as far as hearts/DE's, you can do them anywhere.
And from a personal experience, Human areas have a reaaaally bad DE flow at certain spots. I find it best for me to diversify my leveling areas. It keeps it interesting and I get a better leveling flow. |

Why do you want to do content of your level? Just go to any area that's of your level or less. You'll get downscaled. Actually, I prefer exploring areas that are below my level, because you can just run around them without worrying about the enemies' levels. If you want dialogue or descriptions, talk to any named NPC. They always have something to say and are often quite talkative. Elementalist and Thief are probably the most mobile professions in the game, but they're also squishy in direct combat. A profession that's mobile and tanky would probably be OP in GW2. |

Originally posted by Gorwe Didn't have that problem - the human zones are really good and seem to be some of the most popular. The humans zones are very non-linear though. Well the advantage of DEs is that you don't need to imagine because it is happening. Talk with the scouts, talk with the NPCs (since you like reading). Conjugating that with your personal story and the DE's you will understand why things are happening. Also linger a bit after a DE finish and agressively stalk DE NPCs - often they will lead to other DEs and offer interesting stories/lore. Lore in GW2 is optional so you will have to work for it and get all the pieces. For example do you ever wonder why the bandits are burning the farms in Queensdale? Doesn't make much sense until you do the personal story. Or why are bandits poisoning the water? One of the personal stories deal with the bandits acquiring the poison and why they want to use it.
Sorry but grouping for questing in an MMORPG is not something very common in the biggest MMORPGs. At least in GW2 you play around other people. 3s DAze is awesome - you can prevent a ton of damage and deal a ton of damage in that time, and also be 3 seconds closer to your self heal recharge or have regained enough endurance to dodge. Elementalists are very versatile as long as you keep shifting elements and the Engineer can be dull if you go towers or more interesting if you have kits. Even though you don't like melee both warrior and guardians have ranged weapons (longbow and rifle for warrior) and magic (guardian). I thing the guardian would surprise you. Mesmer can also an option, with cunning use of images and conditions. Currently playing: GW2 |

And the Guardian is the biggest disappointment. I really don't find him fun even tho I have awesome chivalrous character ready for such a role. Idk... Nay, even races are meh. Humans are weak, deluded and totally unbelievable. Charr shouldn't even be playable-I don't Like them even a single bit(Like feline mix of Orcs and Dwarfs). Asura are smartass and just the type of race I'd punch just for the sake of it(and I am pacifist mind you!). Sylvari are too alien+I don't want to play as mr.Tulip or mrs.Orchif or even more outrageous-mr.Cabbage. The only good race that I can relate to are Norns. For whatever reason. This is coming from an Elf lover and a Knight lover...

If you go to the main city in the game (take the short cut through the pvp arrival zone), you will find portals to most of the starting zones, where you can mix and match to level up!

Meh. Ditch that! I've given up on way larger things than lame wars(I will not even call it Guild Wars, for the Sequel DOES NOT D.E.S.E.R.V.E. that name). So fk this piece of shit! There's web full of games waiting to be played...
This game is too 14-18 year old oriented as is. Cabbage people, Mole people, cow/cat interbreeds, Polar Bears, ... Where is my Gritty GW1? I, for one, can't imagine Fall of Ascalon in GW2-It'd be too Dark/harrowing for pimply teenagers. Meh... What baffles me the most? They forgot the loot! YEAH! In an MMO! What were they thinking!??? And then they forgot RPG mechanisms. I don't know even how to call lame wars-ULG perhaps(Ultra Lame game?)... |

I actually thought this was going to be an honnest post about someone needing help with the game... I've never been more wrong in my life. OP you sound like your mind about the game was made up long long long time ago. Simply see no reason for you to make this thread other than to grab attention. sorry to seem rude, but that's a serious pathologthatical/psychological problem and i suggest you get that checked (dont feel alone, many posters in this forum suffer from the same thing). anyways hope you find a game you enjoy. |

So I am sick because I don't Like a game that you do...?
What has the world come to... And I'd rather be dead than insane/on pills. There is no way I am giving my mind over to Chaos... |

If its boring you, just explore or move to another zone. Every zone isnt always perfect and filled with stuffs to do every inch. And if your done with a zone and not high enough for another higher lvl zone, maybe you can consider repeating some events when people shout and ask for help, you can lend a hand and get exp. I think the PVE side of the game is not all about just one heart after another. Its about exploring helping and maybe find some friends along the way. Events can be repeated if your behind too, you dont have to craft. I have a character I basically leveled 1-50 just from Queensdale :|.

Hell, just one example why GW sucks. I want positional, tactful combat. In GW it is spam spam spam. Really mindless. And no, you can come and defend GW all you want but that is the truth. GW is a bland Zerg/spamfest mix of confusion and half finished mechanics. However, since my Life is dull and basically comes to Down to PC n tellie n books, I'll stay. Maybe it gets better with upcoming patches. Who knows right? |

ok to fix this I need you to follow this steps, ok? first close all programs, and shut off your computer. second go out and go for a walk, after that call a friend and try to spend time having fun far your computer (or go on a date, that would be better) third step, go sleep take a rest you sure will need.

"Some kind of help" is definitely needed on this one. But I don't think it can be given via the computer.
Gorwe, want the truth? GW2 is not for you. Try TSW or Tera (once it goes F2P). You'll be happier for it.
