people who got caught botting GOT NO REFUND AT ALL! 

Refunds was only for people who bought gems on their store and exploit that season mats, so nothing special about that, and they didn't got their account back, so they lost all those hours invested on the game.

The refunds are for the snowflake exploit, not botters.

 

so actually:

if you get cuaght for the exploit and banned, then you can get refund. Should you buy the game again, then you are left with a lot less than you had prior to the ban.

if you werent banned cause you didnt cheat, then you are now far ahead of those that did.

if you cheated and werent banned, then you simply werent caught this time. No different than a police car picking one out of 5 speeders in the road, the others made it out of luck, however should be careful in the future.

and can u tell me if an exploiter was also a botter or not?

How do you know he was an A.Net employee? In GW1, there whispers ahd chats were in a different color so you knew they were from A.Net.  It does not look like he ia an A.Net employee - if he did say than, then he might be lying to you.

They gave refunds to the people who bought the game from A.Net only. Anyone who bought through a 3rd party got nothing. From reddit.

I don't think it is a great policy to dissuade from cheating, because it is an actual endorsment of cheating/exploiting:

- if i cheat and i can make away with that ->  i have profit

- if i cheat and i got caught i will be refunded -> i have no loss

- if i don't cheat at all -> my profit will be the lower possible

Ask botters how much they care that they've lost the characters they levelled in 3 days when after the ban they've got all the money back they had begfore starting, so they can start anew

TSW does not have bots.  There is no point to them in TSW.  There are no resource nodes to exploit.  To get cash and gear you have to play and complete missions or actively craft your own gear.  Except for high-end Elite and NIghtmare dungeons, you can manufacture any gear you may need.  Now that I think of it, there are also no gold farmers (that I have seen) and I have heard no one complain of bots.  IN TSW, there is simply nothing for bots to do.

It's not a matter of  the quantity of people playing TSW.  There is simply nothing for a bot to do.  And, BTW, since the conversion to a B2P option, the game is swarming with new players.  Not as many as GW2 and WoW, of course, but significantly more people than there were.
