To be honest, none of the games on the list disappointed me because I didn't play a single game on the list. In fact, other than starting up the original Guild Wars once back in March, I don't think I played a single MMO all year. Can't say I missed it either. Played: UO, EQ, WoW, DDO, SWG, AO, CoH, EvE, TR, AoC, GW, GA, Aion, Allods, lots more |

Of the games in your list that I've played, I can't bring myself to call any of them a disappointment as I played them on and off for a month or so and enjoyed my playtime in each. People should probably lower their insanely high expectation that every new MMO they try will be "the one" MMO that they will play and love for the next several years. The only MMO I've ever been disappointed with in my twelve or so years playing them was Final Fantasy XIV. If I enjoy my time playing, even if I only play for a month, then the game has been a success for me. |

GW2 is the only one I played. It was fun at first, but some of the decisions they've made post-launch have been absurd.
Enter a whole new realm of challenge and adventure. |

GW2 by far! I can't tell it horrible game, but all hypo about was huge lie... By far it the worst of all GW group, especially when you think of dynamic of Factions and variety of PvP at original GWs. They told: no grind = GW2 is more grind as any GW but Proph, beside many other games. Non grind now calls WoW (and I don't like FU panda idea at all). Game is good if you don't have more then few hours per week/month to play, if you don't care grind, if you like mindless PvP, if you come just to chat, if you like the use of item shop. Beside game: seems ANET keep hand on ban (I guess they hope all these guys will buy more then 1 game copy), push you hard to item shop, shut you up at forum and make you pay their own bad work (like nice celebration of winters days resumed by mass ban). I'm not sure what changed to the company I remember as nice and helpful, but seems this game is suicidal (I'll not be surprised if in 1 year servers will be even more empty then GW1 now) try before buy, even if it's a game to avoid bad surprises. |

I know Isaid way back when, what is wrong with people playing GW2 and TOR together.
Well, I haven't played GW2 in months but I am still playing TOR currently. I thought GW2 dynamic events would be a lot better, a lot more group oriented later in the game, and a lot less solo play. I was wrong. It was pretty boring, the combat is slow in relation to how combat abilities cooldown. |

I havent baught anything this year that dissappointed me. Keyword is Baught, I did my research i beta tested what i could. So far i am quite impressed with TSW (If you follow me on the forums at all this is obvious) and im quite impressed with Age of Wushu. So i have no real disappointments.... other than Romney winning the Republican Election however i wont get into politics.
Because i can. |

GW2 for sure. What a terrible game - absolutely abysmal. Was REALLY looking forward to a new pvp-centric game too, but they failed big time with the classes/combat system. Runner up is def Diablo 3 (altho not an mmo) for me. And I still can't believe they haven't implemented any form of PvP yet. LOL. The Devs working on that game are clueless. Honestly, I think 2012 was one of the worst years for MMOs. Check my account creation - I've been playing these games well before WoW (98-99 starting with EQ) and I was thoroughly disapointed with last year's offerings. Hopefully 2013 will be better... but I'm skeptical. I'd like to see less trashy MOBAs and WoW clones, and more compelling PvP MMOs with fantastic new combat systems and immersive worlds. |

WarZ is a non-entity - most people DON'T care. The only thing people care as far as they are concerned is the comic value of the news of their failures, just like Mortals Online. |

I guess people have spoken. GW2 disappointed the most but then again i am not surprised. This is what happens when your sales pitch is 'we want to beat WOW and become number one'. Keep dreaming Mr.O Brian. |

GW2 for me. Not because it's a bad game - it's better game than some of the other candidates. But because of how much was expected and how little delivered in proportion, which is itself the definition of 'disappointment'. My opinion is my own. I respect all other opinions and views equally, but keep in mind that my opinion will always be the best for me. That's why it's my opinion. |

waw, i see nothing but negative posts about GW2.....i dont get it, the game is not a 7th wonder of the world but it is a damn good game imho (for a theme mmo anyways). While a lot of you are saying this was a crap mmorpg year i would love to say that imho its been a pretty good year. Played: D3: after the first week of connection problems the game was fixed and worth the story (so for me the game was worth it's money, kinda). Tera: pretty good game imo with some sweet GFX but just a bit TOO grindy for my taste...so it was ok for me. TSW: played beta and rly enjoyed the instense atmosphere it had but the animations where soo badly done i could not bare to look at it anymore (it felt like the animations where made 15 years ago). TL2: still loving it as my offline game.....its just a good diablo clone :) GW2: best theme mmorpg is YEARS.....crafting is good (if you dont mind a bit mining and stuff), the events are pretty good altough if you stay in the same area too long the repeating of those same 3 events get's old i do admit. The exploring, Vista's and jump puzzles are just freaking awesome omho. the only 2 thing i dont like in GW2 is that the WvWvW is a zergfest and the dungeons are just a runfest if the group is isnt in elite gear. but overall it's been a good year for mmo's for me at least......2013 won't be any better i think. my 2 copperz

Originally posted by oubers I agree to some extent it has been a good year, but unfortunately not due to new releases imo. Improvements in old games were fantastic, AOC feels like the game it should have been at release, WoT received a great expansion as did Rift. In fact the only new release I really rated was P101, although TSW did interest me for a little while. I look forward to revisiting GW2 when some of (for me) the game breaking issues have been dealt with, namely; the lack of alternative to trinity, dull combat, poor pvp, over-simplicity and lack of interaction created by hearts, repetitive events, tetris map design, 'vista' and 'jump puzzle' fluff instead of real content, broken crafting, amateur story and general lack of immersion created by all of the above. currently playing: DDO, AOC, WoT, P101 |

Going with Planetside 2. While it's fun for a few hours, and may awe you, it really lacks depth and anything that made PS1 unique.
