You know you have a bad game if you cant make money in Japan or Korea....The Asians usually love their gaming.

And even in your list it barely popped back to the 20s again for whatever reasons. Originally posted by Theocritus The market is saturated, especially in South Korea with its 50 million inhabitants. From what I can remember, without looking how things are as of today...Aion was the Big Kahuna in S-Korea with +/- 50% of the online gaming market cornered but around the time of Blade & Soul dropped to half of what it used to have (too tired to Googlefu this right now). What I'm trying to say is it's sink or swim for many titles over there (elsewhere too nowadays...) There are plenty of games to choose from and many don't have to put up with slow patches, shitty customer service, crappy content etc. etc. So it doesn't have to mean that the game is "bad." ![]() |

Originally posted by Pivotelite It did drop out months ago by both netimo.net metrics and pcbang/gamemetics.com it never even temproarely peaked into the top 20 in the last week unlike according to your site which places still current top 9 and 8 somewhere at 60 right now. (You site is not wrong, actually its the most likely "right" one anywhere, but the averages including downtimes skew the individual daily rankings) The difference between Tera and Blade & Soul is about as much as WoW and Star Trek Online, and later makes games like Aion and SWToR look like giant cashcows in the West. I dont even bother about the gap more than about the level of the drop since launch which closes to SC2 or SWtoR tanking. Thats why I was asking for server counts and potential merge schedules from the very beginning not just some delusional dreams about an immensly successfull F2P switch of TERA.. To be fair, the game had poor balance and shallow content, the kind of content that feels that it was simply created to keep players grinding.

TERA felt worth the box price, just not the subscription.
I would play it alongside GW2 if it went F2P with a GOOD payment model. We’ll stop to sleep when the game is the best possible game we think it can be. We’ve seen the population of the game steadily rising lately and we’re not going to sit on our butts and congratulate one another, we’re going to try and build on that momentum and make the game even better. -Colin johanson on GW2 |

i would prefer if they just halved the sub price..i like tera even though they are mostly kill x amount of things..those BAM'S make you feel like a god when you down them..especially when you do em at the right lvl.the combat is fantastic imo.but what ever they decide i will occasionally log in

Figure they go this route eventually, too many B2P, F2P games thats deeper and almost better than Tera for them to stick with their Sub route. And with some upcoming releases/rereleases, they would for sure lose more player base anyways. Better go F2P/P2W now and win win on the cash shop now than nothing later.

If you see no good or you see no bad in a game, chances are you are bias. |

I do hope it goes F2P in a way. Easily the best combat in an MMO persistant world (action combat wise) just seemed to be lacking in other areas I do hope it can pick up on. Not to likely it will be well recieved though here (people tend to have the xenophobic "its an asian game" deal) though it should hopefully get enough attention to go for f2p.

I'm playing the unlimited trial (lvl 28 max) with my GF and we're both enjoying it. I played it during beta and loved it back then. Not subworthy, however, mostly due to time constraints.
This is good news, I plan to play this. http://lyrics.iztok.org/verse/Lynyrd_Skynyrd/Simple_Man/80615 |

I need to see Tera... I'm just to busy on other games all the time ( If it was free it would be great, because like said I need access to pay for extras like expansions and cash shop items, I'm fully willing to buy unlocks if they are permanent, but I hate swtors temporary weekly passes... Anything that supports casual instead of hardcore grinding would be great, lol...

Subscriptions are a pain because once the sub is out you're unable to log in period... No matter if you already paid a thousand dollars on it or not for several years lol... Buy to play however would be better , if you could keep a cash shop ala Guild Wars 2 but not force restrictions on people, i'd be fully willing to pay $40 or $60 on buy to play to avoid restriction locks and subs...

I'm anxious to see how this plays out for NA / EU. If box to play works well for TSW, I could see it being considered.

This game should have been either b2p or f2p from the start, it never had even close to enough content to be a subscription game. Of course Enmasse might have had to make it so because of it's contract with bluehole. Hard to say, but definitely the wrong funding method here in the west.

TSW also has constant updates which you have to buy, Tera's updates come much less consistently.
