One of the fundamental laws of the universe is that if an acronym is used often enough, someone will try to pronounce it. So, how do you pronounce MMORPG? I vote for "more pig", so that the plural, MMORPGs, becomes "more pigs". Saying each letter separately, as in em-em-oh-arr-pee-gee, is too clumsy. Do you have any better ideas?

Nitth: What makes you so sure its a simple fix? filmoret: Because most of them are. Sometimes its just changing a number in a code string other times its creating a few variables. However none of them should take over a few hours of coding. |

I normaly just refer to them as MMO's. The RPG,FPS or whatever rarely ever comes up unless someone doesn't know about the specific one we're talking about. I can't really see myself ever calling one of these games a more pig.

Morpug Dear developers, In my humble and inexperienced opinion if I can get through all the content you spent the last 5+ years working on within 6 months you have not done your work justice. Please give me, and everyone else, some tools to create our own content from what you have made so I can stay in your world and appreciate it longer than three weeks before I say "meh". It's a shame and I'd rather not do that to something you put so much of yourself in to. |

It's like how the Hebrews feel about the true name of God, it's never to be pronounced. If I actually try to describe it vocally to others I tell them I play online games.

In my mind, years ago, I started pronouncing it "morp" for some reason but if I ever say it out loud I usually just say M-M-O. I've seen people change the acronym to MMOG which I think isn't a bad idea because it's at least pronouncable. |
