Trion Worlds has announced that December 12th will bring a trio of new features into Rift. The annual Fae Yule event will kick off, a new Chronicle will arrive and players will be able to take part in a 20-person raid to take on Regulos himself.

20-player raid: Endless Eclipse

Plunge into Shapers Citadel, a flesh-and-blood fortress of endless horror. Its ancient evils guard a portal to the Plane of Death, where you’ll come face to face with Regulos in a showdown with cosmic repercussions. 

Players can also claim three special Fae Yule gifts by completing three simple tasks: Ascend a Friend, sign up for the Rift Watch newsletter and "like" the official Facebook page.

We didint even manage to kill Crucia yet and we already are getting another 20 man Raid, a myriad of small game improvements and class balancing, quests and rewards.

A lot of players didint even reach lv cap to start the endgame progression. :)

On top of that they updated seasonal event for SL expansion with new rewards, quests, zone events, and to top it off new Chronicle for more casual players. And all that in nearly a month after the SL expansion release ^^

That doesn't even happen in Rift. There's obviously some really hardcore guilds that do it but there's at least 20 times more guilds that don't.

I like Rift - I had a sub for 1.5 years - I got sick of the gear grind in it. It would be nice to see some new lower level areas because it is a decent game. Never said it wasn't.

Uhh you obviously didint reach SL yet, we got 1 20 Raid atm and 1 10 man. The ammount of non raid or dungeon content is 10:1 if not more. You can even get gear thats ALMOST as good as Raids gear from Rifts.

Trion Added whole Hunt rift system that scales with the ammount of players participating. Its equivalent of open world progression system with up to 70 !!! NEW Hunt Rift Encounters + A lot of new normal rifts, several zone events with multiple stages in each zones, hundrets of IA quests that in some cases are as good as dungeon boss fights (mechanics wise, lore and execution) and more.

And thats just 1 thing that i mentioned. I dont get why people are so fixated on raiding, that they dont see there is several times more content cattered for non raiders right now.

And for people interested in leveling alt for no reason, they streamlined the early lv zones, aded some new zone events, npcs, rewards, speeded up reputation progress, added lv scaling for high lv players (like in Gw2), with the arival of SL you have access to dimensions from low lv already, new souls, Instant adventures in most of the low lv zones, not so far ago the fishing and survivalist proffesions, and so much more.

I mean seriously. The ammount of non raiding content Added is far greater than the other way around. But Raiding content is way easier to notice and promote tho.

The lower lv zones change so much since i first played the game in beta and during the early release. They where not only streamlined over time, but the content in them was easily doubled in zones like Silverwood for example.

People will always complain about too much focus on raiding.  Its almost never the case.  It is kind of funny that he mentioned adding dungeons, this is something Rift doesnt do often.  Maybe he is conufsing a chronicle with a dungeon, not the same thing.

And this raid isnt really new content, its part of Storm Legion expansion that was left out to give the Crucia raid the focus first.  Wow did the same thing but didnt call it a patch when they enabled their raid and holiday event.

so much more?  no I think you covered it all.  the low level IAs btw are mostly kill tasks and rehashed quests with the occasional escort thrown in.  Why do MMORPGs insist on escort quests?

My bullcrap meter is going crazy.  content easily doubled?  What are you smoking?  By 'streamlining' you basically mean they added a new porticulum or two and in some spots cleaned up the mob population.  The quests are mostly untouched.  Yeah, there are two new tradeskills to level, but a few fish nodes isnt a ton of content.  The IAs are mostly existing content.  The world event rifts and events are for all zones so if you want to count them for silverwood you cant count them for gloamwood.

No the content was not easily doubled.  they just added IAs for people that hate the leveling process

Looks like a lot of what i see as a content you cant, guess that is a matter of perspective. Ill take evolving world over lots of static new zones any day.

It comes down to the fact that you DONT LIKE or ENJOY the game. Guess what ? Its all good. There is a lot of people like it the way it is.

Why wont you just go play something you enjoy and chill instead of making this anty Rift Crusade ?

Oh yay, more raid content with the nicest goodies behind the raids.  No this isn't a raid or die game.  Thanks for the second rate progression for non-raiders Trion.  Maybe that's a factor why the sub numbers for this game never rise above mediocre.  Maybe not, but I think it is.

Don't worry, they added new rewards for everyone if you market for them! woot?

You know you can get relic quality items from Volan zone event right ? And the Rift Items after upgrades is only 5-10% behind the Best Raid gear.

10 man is as easy as an expert dungeon for 10 ppl right now as well so you can do it even with pugs. That means Raid quality gear that is easily accessable.

And lot of casual content is not even mentioned, unless you read patchnotes (detailed ones)

Im suprised that people that complain that Rift is wow clone or whathever would like to make the game more in to a wow clone, when the devas clearly are trying to get away from it. Especialy in the SL expansion.

Its not  nearly as bad in game, but i agree that a lot of trols are on forums. And forums are not nearly as neet community wise as it is in rp and lore driven games like lotro/ddo. I guess they call that passionate ;) Not neccesary in good way.

But if you find a good guild or play on server other than blightweeld you should be fine. 95% of all eliteist jerks are playing there (all major progression guilds) and majority of those forum trolls play there to.

Damn im only level 58 haha. Trion is just too good with content releases. I will be getting my snazzy new yule clothes for sure. Chronicle will have to wait a couple weeks.

Yeah, their forums are almost as acerbic as these.  It didn't used to be that way.  Not sure what happened there.

It's better in game depending on your server, especially if you find a decent gulid.  Go to Faeblight.  It's a good server.  If you like this sort of game and don't mind a sub it's probably the best choice on the market at the moment.

Never judge a game by it's forums.. ever. It's makes no sense to do so at all. Unless you are going to be spending more time on the forum than in the game it's a pretty strange way to judge it's community.

I'll second that the ingame community is nothing like that.

PS.. if you think people are polite on the WoW forums you have some pretty hefty rose tinted glasses on. All those games you listed have worse ingame communities imo, except LOTRO.
