Originally posted by Sevenstar61 Any news on what the revamp will actually do? I'm not a big SWTOR fan, but I would probably still be playing it if ILLUM wasnt such a complete failure. But what we’re targeting to do, is have a fun anniversary to the Ilum shenanigans that happened. Originally posted by Vunak23 Well. Initially theye were supposed to eventually make all those abandoned vehicles strewn about interactive / playable. Apparently that idea got scrapped. In the new interview they mention something about new buildings in Ilum. Not very illuminating, but that's all I got. |

There was a good band playing on Titanic, but it could not save it. If they cant fix problems that they have now and was there from the beginning, then theres no hope. |

I kind of pride myself on maintaining a gaming rig that is far above average, I currently run Windows 7, 64bit, with an i7 3.4 GHZ CPU, 8GIGs of memory, a solid state drive and a Nvidia 680GTX video card. Logging into the main space hub on this game reduces my rig to a slide show with more than 20 people in one place, people not even casting spells, just standng there by the PvP vendors. There is not a single multiplayer game out there that I can find that performs worse this SWTOR. Their perfomance problems are far from solved. I expected some optimizations with F2P but they have made no measurable improvements in this area. Just lip service in their patch notes. I can pull down 40 to 50 FPS in any MMO with 40 plus players on screen all CASTING and attacking SWTOR? Your luckly if you get 15 FPS with more than 20 players in combat. SWTORs problem is with players not the enviornment, I can get 80 to 100FPS in their game when no one is around even in highly detailed environments, start adding players and the FPS start slowing to a crawl, get over 20 players on screen in combat and its over. My point is they can through as many new things at this game they want , but it will never be a massive mulitplayer game that plays worth a shit, so i wrote it off long ago. |

Originally posted by snapfusion It's pretty fucking bizzare that they had all that money and skimped on the foundation. It actually boggles the mind. So many design work-arounds. So many "policies". All trying to polish a turd. The corporate descion making process that led to this self-inflicted crisis and the subsequent spin fascinates me. The only thing more disturbing is the vocal minority who in essence keep asking, "ATM fees?, keep raising them! ATMs are so cool looking and convenient!" To each their own I guess.
*edit* I kept the fucking curse words, added a question mark. |

Originally posted by zomard100 the game is full of free players that are potential subscribers. If they dont "save" the game those potential subscribers will go somewhere else instead. So yeah, i think the Sssp would play an important role in getting Swtor on its feet, but like someone said, thats not coming any time soon. Lots of improvement needs to be done and i noticed they are doing just that. kind of slowly but they are. |

how long now since they r fixing Illum? how you can believe a company who constantly give empty promises? Only new publisher and developer can save SWTOR.

As to SSSP. If it's like Xwing vs Tie or SWG space (huge open areas), yes. People would see the star wars in that and rush back. Im not holding my breath ;\. |

Some of you guys make me laugh. I've gone through your post history and how you've always said game A sucks or that game B sucks.
Now that this game has gone F2P and you don't have to pay for it, now you guys go ahead and say "I'm going to watch for future content."
My mind on all this: as long as you have to pay for that new content will I ever even considering downloading this game again. This game has caved to the poor people and frankly can't help but think now if it'll survive long term.
For those that may say I'm trolling against the poor and how the poor can't game...actually they can. The offical cash needed to be above poverty level is $15,130 made yearly (well plus one.)
Me, I'm going to be definitely checking it out as I've always looked for an excuse to sub back. |

For me, to know there's some dude playing the other dude I'm fighting against and who is now weeping and sobbing because I just killed him...is intoxicating. |

The anwser for me is NO. If it brings back others, then good for them, but this game is dead for me.

Honestly it dissappoints me that there are still bugs in the game from closed beta. Are they just finding it difficult to see why death animations dont play.
Because i can. |

Everyone always complaining about bugs. I and my wife have been playing since headstart and dont' see a fraction of the bugs other people complain are always there. People in my guild never complain about bugs. Probably just your rigs or people making stuff up to comtinue and try and trash the game.

Originally posted by Swanea I have a system similar to the one posted in this. I don't have these sort of performance issues. I'd check drivers, etc as the person above mentioned. You should be getting better from a system like that. If all else fails, reimage your PC because there is something on your end causing this. Release a game with a very large established fanbase from 10+ years of bnet history when the market was still emerging and the casual base had not yet been established, thus ripe for harvesting a momentious self perpetuating playerbase people never leave because they have X hours invested in their characters, and their friends and everyone else plays anyway. Not discounting Blizzard quality... but WoW's success is as much about perfect timing as it is quality, if not more so. - Derros |

The last thing it needs now is to emphasize story even more. Don't get me wrong they need to continue the stories, but for the time being the single player aspect of the game is strong enough. Let them try to get the MMO part of it working better so that maybe people will start staying around after they finish the story. |

I keep hearing the same old lame excuse. 1.4 will save the game, 1.5 will save the game, 1.6 will save the game, free to play will save the game. How many of the latest update will save the game will their be? Nothing can save the game except those who sub up. The real question is, does the game need saved, I don't think it does. It will remain a niche game to a certain decicated hard core players. |
