I like the 3 year plan.. sounds realistic aswell , the whole 2025 thing is ofc PR. but games can run that long but by that time we will have compleetly new tech and is ps2 a simple mobile phone game :P

I really hope people don't fall for this.. Almost everything Smed tells the community ends up being a lie. You will be lucky to see even 1 thing make it in game from that list.

And yes the DF world is alredy 4 years ago massive compared to PS2, and its all on one map! PS2 is already way behind the times. |

Ehh, not too big on Esports but then I guess that's not really directed at me then. The idea of naval vehicles and naval warfare sounds absolutely amazing though. |

Originally posted by tank017 Yeah same here - Naval combat would be awesome, haven't been done a lot either, so would be awesome with some of this. |

I don't really like any of these ideas. NPC's is a terrible idea. The rest of the ideas seem like it will distract people from actual large scale combat. All of these features combined would simply spread the playerbase too thin, which would drastically downscale the size of battles.

People, please. There is no way they will pull the majority of these things off. The ones that might be feasible would be the resource harvesting (PS1 already had a version of this with the ANTs) / rare item crafting. There will NOT be player-built bases in an empty, open sandbox continent. There will NOT be a Savage-style RTS integration. It is unlikely (though more likely than the above two items) that they will develop an ocean which seamlessly connects the continents and eliminates a loading screen. If I were 12 years younger playing my first ever MMO, I might have jizzed in my pants reading this, but I have been through this enough times to have a highly refined bullshit detector. |

Originally posted by Mad+Dog True but they are ahead of many other companies, and have the financial power to have people not care who did it first, but who did it well. much respect for Darkfall and their team, but unfortunately they are going to have to spend much of their time how to convince new players to "man up and take their beatings" and buy their game |
