The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results. |

I kind of expected swg 2.0 mixed with KOTOR 3. I thought we were getting a lot of star wars iconic stuff. What we got was wow with a star wars wrapper. I got to admit when I was reading all the negative things going on in early beta, I though these guys were just swg haters. Then when I got into beta 4 month out I released they were all correct. Sapce on rails, weak sauce for a game. My wife wanted so bad to play this game I left our pre cu orders in place. The lies about the content they had banked is what finally drove us off. Oh where is that banked content, I sure not seen it. Anybody remember the promises of hundres of planets, 10 years of content. I kept our 6 month subs hoping we would see some of the banked content released. Waht we got was kotor 3, with a random chat room lobby (fleet), some grouping, but mostly a single player game. I would have been fine with it, if the game were sold like gw2 where you buy it you have it and only pay for xpac's. However the game wasjust not good enough to pay 15 bucks a month, not for a single player, and it sure not worth playing as the fremium. I had hoped for swg 2.0 what I got was ea/bioware fail.

To be honest, what I was expecting was "WoW with light sabres".
I describe this as: Free travel huge high population connected world with planets instead of continents, instanced PVP on all servers, overland PVP on PVP servers, Cata-style storyline questing, and instanced dungeons with direct-teleport dungeon finder. |

I was expecting a polished game with all the features of a regular MMO and the addition of fantastic open-world PvP. Instead I got a beta quality game missing many of the features of a regular MMO with piss-poor PvP. It really couldn't have gone much worse. |

Originally posted by lucasdeis I was expecting something worthy of an endless budget. However, after playing, it was clear that almost all the budget was spent on advertising. There is nothing that can fix this game. It's too linear from start to finish. Any additional social features that are added will just feel like a cheap "tag-on". Games have to be built around the social realm. This game is not. It's built around console-minded developers. I mean... really. Space on rails? Linear story progression? Redundant Warzones (same 4-5 zones over and over and over and over for pvp gear)? Funnel-like zones? Idiot-proof questing (follow the x on the map), etc.... It's just a Star Wars novel with loading screens. |

After doing some research I thought it wouold be similar to WOW, but with a lavish production, cut scenes and typical Bioware goodness and you know what------------------It was and is. I was surprised at how good the production was and how good the animations and sound were. I read about the Space Game but I was still dissapointed in it and hope that they will flesh it out

Was actually expecting as Star Wars game. Instead I had the same feeling I did when I was young... We didn't have enough money to purchase Transformers so we had to settle with GoBots. A vague representation of the real thing. |

Game played exactly how I expected it to play. Could they have done some things better? Sure. But for the most part i had no surprises.

Originally posted by lucasdeis i was expecting a WoW clone with Star Wars story and i got it, but sadly It turned out to be inferior enough to WoW to justify the sub (for me), but if they improve it im fine with it. |

Originally posted by iamrta Hey! GoBots were way better! Transformers were just too big and clunky. I did, however, have the transformer that turned into a gun. The problem was that the gun would only fit into a human's hand. So unless I was roll-playing a gigantic overgrown human and kicking over all my toys, it would just stupid. |

What happened is what I knew would happen. Even stated it on these forums with a ban behind it. It is a shame that no one really looks at the games as they truly are.

Originally posted by ste2000 They also said it would lead to KOTOR 4+ as well, and probably would have done if it did not tank The fact you only get KOTOR 3 makes it a fail. They put all this effort and money into it, and then loses a large chunk of the playerbase, and then just seem to write the game off. It wasn't really on my radar, but the developer video I saw screamed WOW in space. I tried it during the open beta and loved the class story.

LOL Hey Super did they say it would be Kotar 5, 6 or 7 or perhaps they said it would be Dragon age 1-12 or even the MIghty RETURN OF BALDURS GATE. Sorry to make fun of you but when you say comments like that you are inviting it. I do notice that every time there is a TOR post you come on and make irrational troll comments. "It's very innovative--it's story based." http://www.shacknews.com/article/55470/biowares-star-wars-the-old I was just stating what Bioware said, plus what EA said with 10 year plan. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-12-07-star-wars-tor-is-a-10-year-opportunity So no troll post except yours Star Trek Online - Best Free MMORPG of 2012 |
